"I want you to write my complete biography in six words," he said, tilting his head derisively.
She wrote with care, measuring out the strokes of her pen with delicate precision. She blew on the ink to help it dry, and pushed the paper across her desk toward him, her expression level.
It said, "You're not dead yet, are you?"
I like to write short stories, and I'm happy to do it for other people. I tend to favour writing moments that reveal personality and history. I'm particularly happy to write about aspects of the queer experience (varied and contradictory though it is), so if you have any dragons who fit that bill, please give me a ping!
Quote:
- Flat rate below 500 words.
- Each story costs 10kt.
- Gem ratio is 1:500
- If you want multiple bios, we can negotiate.
- For stories above 500 words we can negotiate rate.
- Rates are based on the time it takes to write a story.
- I'd appreciate a link back to this post on your dragon's page.

Q & A:
- How do you determine pricing?
I base it off the amount of time it takes to write, but I'm honestly undercharging. I could make more in the Coliseum but I don't enjoy it as much.
- Do you write OC stories as well?
I do! But I now charge at a different differential. If you provide a succinct brief, I charge 15kt (because writing in an unfamiliar setting usually takes a little research). If you have information spread out over multiple sources, I charge 30kt.
- Do you write poetry?
Not for treasure, I'm afraid.
- Do you do rewrites?
If what I've written doesn't fit your vision, I'll ask you clarifying questions and then do a rewrite. You get one rewrite, after which we need to renegotiate rate.

Lephi had always wanted to be a Fire dragon. She had the temper for it, something her clanmates had always agreed on. She might be a Fae, they would say, but she has the bite of much larger dragon, if not the bark of one.
In her heart, Lephi was a giant, burning star. In her body she was just small, and sometimes wet.
It was difficult to get the other dragons to spar with her. An errant tail from an Imperial could send her sailing past the Tsunami Flats. She often found herself shuffled aside, left in front of books on healing and shielding. She resented the wisdom she saw in them, and the enjoyment she found in the study of magic.
Something was missing. She wanted to do more than protect herself. Lephi's firey spirit needed some outlet, however small, however tangential...
She found the stone in the Mire, dropped by an absent-minded croaker. Upon its unfinished surface was an image of a towering wave. With a delicate grip, she activated it.
It wasn't flame, it wasn't anything like flame, but it would do.

The first time Blue saw a Mammertee, he was stopped short by its big, black eyes and gentle, chubby face. He'd never seen a creature as sweet, or huggable, in his entire life. He was enthralled when the creature turned and looked at him, turning its smiling head to the side.
His sense of wonder lasted approximately two seconds into the beating it gave him. He'd never before experienced such a world of pain. His agony transcended shame, and indeed all rational thought. He could find no adequate emotion to hold on to, as he watched the vicious water-beast play with his pearl.
His pearl. His pearl.
Whisp found him an hour later, gently returning the orb to his paws, before hauling him over his back.
"This never happened," Blue said, holding his pearl in a tight grip.

It wasn't Smokey Robinson's fault, Cobalt knew that. She just didn't care.
"Really I'm sad, sadder than sad..."
The iridescent Pearlcatchers of her flight didn't care much either, but they cared enough to memorize Smokey's seminal work, and they cared enough to sing it at volume whenever she was within shouting distance.
"But ain't too much sadder than the tears..."
Cobalt was a Pearlcatcher. She was a creature of grace and wisdom, and no bouncy, sub-Motown, rhythm and blues number was going to take that away from her.
"OF A CLOWN!"
If she were being honest, she was getting pretty low on dignity.
---
Sometimes Cobalt liked to slink away from the Air territory, pearl held close in her arms. She'd skirt the edge of the Water flight and watch the tide come in. She liked the sound of the waves, with their rhythmic push and pull.
"That's a pretty song, what's it called?"
She hadn't even realized she was humming, distracted by the call of the ocean. She turned to see a Pearlcatcher with shining wings like hers, and a damp, black coat. He smiled at her, not venturing any farther into her space.
"Oh, it's..." gosh darnit, Smokey, "it's called tears of a clown."
Brilliant.
The boy smiled a little brighter, "ha, that's funny,"
Cobalt grit her teeth.
"It doesn't sound like a sad song at all."
She had no reply for him. He was... Not what she was used to.
"It must be nice to have a song about you, sort of." He said, finally walking closer, and sitting down a respectable distance away from her. "My name's Blue, by the way. My mum's not very creative."
"Mine either... My name's Cobalt." She said, smiling back.
"Ha," Blue said, "that's funny."
Then he looked at his paws, embarrassed.
She married him a month later.

Candy was born small, even for a Fae dragon. He was also born extraordinarily pretty, with big green eyes that dwarfed his grey face. Other dragons sometimes saw fit to comment on his appearance, and compliments would be met with a gentle smile and a ducked chin.
Criticisms were dealt with somewhat differently.
"You look like a girl," an older Imperial once told him.
"I'm a boy though," Candy replied. "So, logically, since I am a boy, there is at least one boy who looks like me. Ergo, I look like that boy, if no one else."
The Imp looked rather confused.
"Oh, I see, my appearance bothers you."
"Dragons will say things, you know," the Imp said.
"You say that, but right now I don't see any dragon but you," Candy said.
"Well I never!"
"Clearly," Candy replied.
"You're beyond help, Gladekeeper save you!" The Imp said, quickly striding off.
Candy pulled a book from under his wing and added a tally to an already full page.

This looks like a lovely shop you have! I've only recently discovered that people write dragon bios for other people. I may consider getting a thing or two from you.

Bette I think I know what I want now!
My progenitor's name is Atlus (3872571). He's currently the smallest dragon I've ever had, and his wingspan is nearly four times his length, and so it dwarfs him in comparison. He's probably teased about that a lot.
Moving onto more relevant information...
When he looks into a mirror, though sometimes he sees another Fae. A pale pink one, smaller than he is, and with dark mulberry wings. He isn't sure why, but the sight of this other dragon always infuriates him, perhaps because his own small size is merely funny, while the other's makes him look cute.
If you'd like for me to elaborate more, then I can do that. I apologise if this is confusing!
500 words or less is fine, whatever you feel like writing. The mood or genre doesn't matter to me.

Oszs Shhhh I had to go edit the original and I wrote the wrong name since I didn't have anything to look at! Sorry about that!
I'm really bad at names in general.
