Greetings folks! Due to a variety of reasons, I have stopped updates to the Lair Companion. @tigercule has kindly taken over updates and is continuing work on the sheet! You can find their thread, with the most up to date version, here:

I work in accounting and consequently with spreadsheets every day. Lately, it has been difficult for me to find the energy to update the sheet and answer questions after getting home from the office. Some elements of my free time can involve spreadsheets, but not as many as are necessary to appropriately handle all of the comments, questions, bug reports, and requests regarding this sheet.

I am going to be taking a step back from updating and managing the sheet. Fortunately, @tigercule has kindly offered to help make sure things like genes are added in a timely fashion. tigercule is going to post an updated version of the sheet in this thread soonish and I will point the link in the main post to it once that has been done.

I'm going to add an FAQ post to this thread with my standard answers to some of the questions I have seen popping up several times.

FAQs

Can you add X, Y, or Z feature?
As far as ability is concerned, probably. The short answer however is no. I will not be personally expanding the capabilities of the sheet from where it exists now.

Can you add more pairs to the Pair Workshop tab?
There are 176 cells containing formulas for each pair on that tab. That's 880 formulas on the sheet. Every time a dragon is chosen from one of the dropdown menus at least 88 formulas have to update. Every additional pair added to the workshop means another 176 formulas on the sheet that might need to be updated. The workload on the spreadsheet, being run over Google Sheets, is fairly high (evidenced by the visible delay between a change and when everything is updated) and I am not comfortable with increasing it to further than it already is.

Can I add more pairs to the Pair Workshop tab?
On your own copy of the sheet, feel free to do so. Please keep my comments about workload in mind.

Can I modify the sheet and/or share my modifications with everyone?
Yup. As far as I am concerned, this spreadsheet can be considered open source. Were I in a position to license it as such, I would use the Creative Commons Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share-Alike license. Meaning that I would like to be credited in your derivative work, I don't want anyone charging treasure/gems or anything for the sheet and I ask that anyone who does make a modified version stick to the same standard.
