"Two aether cherries, a jasmine blossom and some star moss." The arcane sprite read out to her guardian dragon, Comet, as she glanced above the book's pages to watch him add the ingredients. "Okay, that should just about do it!" Comet replied with an anxious tone. He had been trying to get his potion to work for days and hasn't been able to find the right combination of ingredients to grant the results he longed for. "Now stand back Stardust, you remember what happened last time." Taking this as a great sign to give her guardian his space the arcane sprite flew to the top of the book shelves which surrounded the room. Taking a deep breath, Comet began to mix the ingredients together in his glass beaker, taking extra care not to remove his hair this time. Slowly the mixture began to let off a pleasant scent followed by pink steam. "Did it work?" Stardust asked, wanting to be sure it was safe to come out of hiding. "It looks like it's working!" Comet got excited for this would be his first creation to succeed. He was still a young dragon but had so much longing to create and reach a kind of knowledge that nobody has ever known before.
Stardust flew down from her perch on the top shelf and landed on the table next to the beaker. Comet looked at her as she leaned over to admire the pink liquid in the glass container, her size being barely taller than the bottle. "Now, get me a shard from the Crystalspine ridge, that's the final ingredient." Running to the edge of the table then flying up to a wooden shelf Stardust lifted a leather pouch by the string which held it shut and brought it to Comet. Reaching inside the sack the imperial pulled his claw out without any shards. "We're out of shards already?" Sighing from this thought, Comet put the beaker back over the heat and looked at his little companion. "I can't complete the potion without the shards, I guess we're making a trip to the ridges for more supplies." He then turned and grabbed a book off a shelf before placing it into a bag, dust falling off from it as it moved from it's place. Turning for the door Stardust flew swiftly behind him before landing on the brim of his hat.
-----------------------------
Leaving the Starwood Strand, Comet admired the colors of autumn which was all around them, the cool breeze scented of leaves and frost danced in the dragon's hair as he made his way towards the spines. Stardust flew off from his hat and began to flutter next to him as he took his time on the pathway. "It's always lovely to come outside, we should do it more often." The sprite chuckled to herself but fell silent at the look her guardian was giving her. "We do leave the lair, Star, we need to gather supplies once in a while you know." Comet wasn't one to venture out of his lab very often, he found that all he loved and enjoyed was inside so why bother going out any more than he'd have to. The sprite, however, enjoyed going outside a little more often than he did. She really was at her happiest helping him with his studies but ever since he finished his astrology lessons with Orion he hasn't had any other reasons to take her a anywhere.
As the two continued on their journey they finally came upon the ridges which filled the sky with sharp shards which gathered in multiple focal points. "I forgot how beautiful it is out here." Comet took an old path he used to use when he lived in this area the times he was sent out to restock supplies for Orion. "Now lets see if we can find some shards ready removed from the spikes."

The great Crystalspine Mountains were home to many Arcane clans. Celatum had been born in a clan within the Starwood Strand, but at a young age, had moved to a smaller clan within Crystalspine. Humming a tune, the young Spiral flew over the crystalline peaks, in her forearms jars of paint, paintbrushes, and a stack of canvas tied with a neat string. She glanced over the scenery, and peered at the sky. It was almost twilight, and the brightest stars were just beginning to show themselves.
Celatum spotted a patch of plants on one of the peaks. The Spiral circled the plateau upon the peak, and determined that it would be a suitable place to paint. The dragon descended to the top of the peak, curling her tail on a spike of crystal jutting up from the mountains- it would soon detach itself, but for now, it was safe to hold onto.
The dragon set her paints on the ground, organizing them in neat rows while humming a popular, humorous song about the Arcanist and a particularly pretty fae that had once been exalted into his ranks. The Spiral laid out her canvas in an arch around her, careful to keep the paints from spilling onto the plants, which seemed to radiate energy. As Celatum broke into the next verse of the song she was humming, she also removed a paintbrush from her pile of stuff, and ran one of her forelimbs (forehands or forepaws?) over the paintbrush's bristles.
Setting the paintbrush down, the Spiral picked up a jar of pain and unscrewed the lid, revealing its dark purple color. She lifted up the paintbrush once again and dipping part of it in the paint. She spread the color over one of her canvases, which would later show the sky at one point of dusk. It wasn't that dark yet, but by the time it was, the first layer of paint would be perfect.
That was when an Imperial dragon with a gray witch hat interrupted the Spiral's view of the sky. Celatum's tail unhooked itself from the crystal, and the dragon bolted upwards. "Hey, I love the color of your wings! They compliment the black of the rest of your body so well! Oh, and you have a purple stomach, too! Do you know that the Sea of a Thousand Currents borders the Tangled Wood, the Zephyr Steppes, the Scarred Wasteland, and the Lightweaver's place? What's your name? I'm Celatum! Do you use magic? What are you doing here? Did you hear that recently a Nature Dragon fell into an ocean and fainted because she was a fae and faes are small and the water made her wings heavy and she couldn't breathe underwater so she passed out and her mother's third cousin had to save her?"
Celatum spoke quickly, gesturing in the general direction of whatever she was speaking about.

Celatum paused mid-sentence, allowing the Imperial to speak. She tilted her head at the mention of her father, and scanned her mind for any memory of this dragon. Yes, she had seen him before. The Spiral had still been in the nest with her sister, and she peaked out. She couldn't quite remember where the imperial had been, but she recognized him now.
"You know Dad, that's so exciting!" The Spiral cried, doing a somersault in the air. She peered at the Arcane Sprite, tilting her head to get a better look at the pink sprite.
Celatum glanced at the Imperial as he harvested the crystal. "Oh, could I go to your clan's lair with you? Is Dad there? I could even paint something on parchment, like the Arcanist! Or maybe I can sculpt something. My friend Lyra taught me how to hold a knife. She said that when she was with the Shadowbinder, they had knife throwing contests. Isn't that violent? She said that wasn't allowed, though. They got in big trouble when a fae found them."
The Spiral dove down to her supplies, and placed the lid back onto the jar of purple paint. She cast her pink gaze upon Comet, inspecting his hat. "I have a hat like that, but it's big and covers my eyes, so I don't like to wear it." She said, sounding almost wistful.
