Right, so I've not seen this anywhere. Due to travel times and knowing the area, I think that clans should get a bonus when gathering in their own area. The bonus would probably be an extra roll for an item or something.
Ice clans that gather in Ice areas get the bonus. Arcane in Arcane. Etc.

Makes sense. It'll also help a bunch if say your flight was dominating that week. Geez, gathering would be so much easier that way!

It might also foster trade between flights. Because flights will have an excess of what others don't have?

I don't think flight specific items would be a good idea, because of the differences in flight size.
