I was recently viewing someone's profile. I thought they were someone I had been talking to, and I sent them a friend request. Only just after I clicked did I realise that this was completely the wrong person.
Usually this would be okay- I mean, a few days ago I tried to zoom in by double tapping (I'm on mobile) and it sent the request, but I sent a message explaining that it was an accident and it was fine- but this user and I have had disagreements, and they blocked me. So I have no way of contacting them to tell them that it was a mistake, and I know that if I got a request from them I'd think they were being odd.
Also, on the off chance that they do accept, they are definitely not the sort of user I want to be associated with. And I would be noticed, as they have a very small number of friends on their list.
Point of this was that I'd like an "are you sure" popup. (I personally have also accidentally clicked "add friend" instead of "send message".) I realise it's a very low priority thing but it'd be nice to have ^_^

I'd also like an "are you sure" for rejecting. On mobile, the box that shows up on hovering pops up when you click the friend request alert, and it can be tricky getting it to go away. I've rejected several friends request by accident, and didn't even get to see who I rejected because their name was hidden.

I think its a wonderful idea, considering how close the two buttons are and how often people use mobiles to browse this site.
Since alot of people I know dont seem to appreciate random requests, perhaps this or an option to cancel an accidental friend request be available?

full support, there's no reason this shouldn't have a confirm window like basically everything else on the site.
eta: also - an option to block random friend requests would be excellent. i get a lot of requests from random people with homestuck usernames.

Or at the very least a cancel button. This way, if you send someone the friend request and then decide you DON'T want to be their friend, you cancel it after the fact anytime before they accept it.

Cancelling after it was sent would also be pretty useful!
And the option to block random requests- I personally wouldn't have that, as people may know me from other sites, but I do understand why people would want it. I often get random friend requests on Facebook which I pretty much leave to rot ;-;'
