Various parts of the site are accessible to non-sighted folks, but not all. Trading, buying/selling, and familiars are not very accessible. If there were something like hover descriptions or other ways of describing or accessing the site that would be really helpful.

Also the Coliseum isn't accessible, though I don't know enough about programming to know how to change that.

Support! It'd be easier to do it now than in months/years down the road, too.

I always support more accessability.

And concerning the Coliseum, I know quite a few users would love a text-based Coliseum (something like Subeta has). It would help with Coli lag and users who can't access it in the first place. I support that. Would that also help with accessability?

Pings are disabled.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?

I think that if accessibility were more integrated now, then it would be easier to keep integrating things as they expand. I'm sighted (I suggested this for a friend who really likes FR), but I would even like a text-based option for when I'm having trouble with the coli.

I know this is an old thread, but I was thinking something similar to the text log in the pokemon battle simulators might work well for a simplified version of the coli (i'm just putting this here as an example so you can see the log i'm talking about: http://pokemonshowdown.com/ )

I'm not sure if Jaws can read it very well (since I don't run Jaws) but that text log on the right looks nice, and from what I know, the sprites on the left don't move around very much.

Another thought I had: In the User settings, there could be an option to view the site in Flash mode, or simple (HTML, Java, whathaveyou) mode. So that users who prefer the flash mode don't have to select it every time they visit a game on the site (and users who prefer/need text mode don't have to select it every time they go to play a game either). Neopets used to have an option like this in their user settings way back when (I think they've since done away with it, but I liked it when they did have it).

I apologize if any of these ideas have been brought up already.

Best of luck to the developers in resolving this issue ! c:

I generally support accessibility suggestions, but I have to wonder why non-sighted folks would even seek to play an almost 100% visual game? Every aspect of FR is based on images. Dragon colours, familiars, genes, apparel, Coliseum, games... what is the appeal for those who can't see anything?

I'm not looking to start and argument or anything, I just don't understand.
