TOPIC | Buying Lair Space Alternative

Ok. This was something I've talked back and forth with some players and what i see and hear a lot is that some players which they had the option to pay for as many lair spaces you need.

This is vague so let me explain

My last lair expansion was 245,000 t but like with every expansion, i only got 5 more spaces. I didn't really think that was worth it (personal opinion but i did need the lair space for future hatchlings and i exalted 2 dragons for more space)

What some of the people i was talking to were thinking about paying around 20k-35k per lair space instead. Pay for what you need. As for a little math. Right now you can get 125 spaces for 1,020,000 t (or 4,680,000 overall)

Now for, lets say, 25k per lair space the overall total at the end would be 3,125,000 but for pay for what you need, it wont seem like that big of a burden because you're not spending all this treasure for just 5 more spaces.

Now I wouldn't know how this could potentially affect the economy, and I know no one is obligated to give an explanation, but if you do give a "No Support" may you please do a little explaining so i can have a better understanding?

I'm not sure about what you're trying to say with your math?
According to this thread, it costs over 4.5 million to expand your lair completely (it's the last expansion alone that costs the 1.02 mil), which would make it a bigger treasure sink than 25k per space if that adds up to just more than 3 million.

I like the idea of paying for only what you need, but I feel like paying by row, the way it is now, leaves room for milestones and goals. Saving up for a 250k lair expansion gives one a little more purpose than just putting through 25k at a time for convenience. The whole purpose of the site is to put just a healthy amount of struggle in the way of goals (like dream dragons and stuff)!

I can't say whether or not I support, but there's a few things to consider.

@Woodkid Oooh! Thanks for pointing out that math! I'll edit that

And yeah I can see why people still would want that milestone~

I support this. Going off @Woodkid's numbers each single expansion would cost 36kT and would add up to the full lair's expansion. You're essentially spending the same amount, but it seems like you're spending less for an expansion. In some cases that would be true, especially in my case.

Right now I could buy 5 expansions for 180kT, but I can't because it costs 295kT.

Having the option to buy single expansions would be GREAT, even if their prices get upped a little bit for whatever reason. Most users can stand to drop 30-40kT every other day. I drop 30-40kT nearly every couple hours because I suck at holding onto imaginary money and the AH is my Achilles heel. I want both the AH and my lair expansions to be my Achilles heel, that way when I'm done with one I can save up all my treasure for the other haha.

I support this. I don't want 5 more spaces for all of my treasure. I only need one.

This would certainly be more convenient, but it kind of bulldozes the way the system is set up now, with a tiered system that makes each lair expansion progressively more difficult to get, by completely leveling out the amount per expansion (at 30k per spot times five, every expansion would be 150k if you purchase each slot individually.) The higher tiers of lair expansions are made purposefully difficult to achieve, by forcing you to save up about a million treasure at once, and since they obviously did that on purpose, and I can't see them putting a system in place that completely removes that difficulty.

Support! The current system works but seems rather pointless when you only need one or two spaces. I once had enough treasure to expand by at least 10 spaces or so last week if this system was in place, besides just the common five.

@Mirrorstone I understand what your saying~

But as it says in the title, "Alternative" not replacement. This way works better for casual players or players who play the game differently. Maybe the way it is now can be set up as a challenge with an achievement on it? But you're right, that means they'd need to overhaul whats already in place and that seems rather inconvenient for the coders and could bug up other features. I can still dream!
