I know that there are many people posting and some of the posts get buried, people have resorted to posting "bump"s to increase the visibility of their posts. What do people think about having a Bump button? This would be a button that you can use to simulate someone posting but would not clutter the thread with posts that do not contribute to the thread. Would we need to limit how often a particular thread could be bumped by a particular user to allow other people to get the top few topics?

That would be very much appreciated xD

Love the idea! Almost suggested it myself. Yeah, I would say limit the bumping. Either:
a) on a time basis (every 12 hours, and/or only for the first 3 days),
b) based on replies (if it hasn't gotten a new reply in 3 days, don't allow more bumping),
c) a combination of the above

Or maybe a temporary sticky button? Your post will be on the first page for at least xyz amount of time? Although there may be issues with that, I suppose.

Support for a bump button. I also Rykos' general idea for a timed bump. Some people won't let a thread drop below the first three posts and it gets really annoying if they keep bumping constantly.

Approve of this. I was once on a site that had one of these it worked quite well but yes, it SHOULD be timed (I have also been on a site that had one that didn't have a timer - it was ridiculous and they had to implement a strict rule about it after a while) - between 5-10 hours would probably be good, maybe a bit more - but not more than 12 because areas like sales move extremely fast and your thread could be on the second page in no time.

Support this. Bumping by typing makes the thread look messy as well >.>.
Aywas for example, is using a rule which states that you can't bump for as long as you are on the 1st page.

This definitely needs to be implemented!
