For one thing I could live with or without the animation, but in the off chance that the coliseum would run a bit better on outdated computers I would suggest making an option to turn animated effects off. When I play pokemon (especially recent generations that put too much emphasis on attack animations) I opt to turn animation off so that the battle process goes by faster. I don't know if this has been brought up or not (probably has), but it's something I'ved been thinking about for a while.

On more than one occasion I've found the Coliseum going from running smoothly to battle conducted inside thick molasses. The option to turn the animations off would make the Coliseum much more enjoyable, and would stop unnecessary breaks in my EXP streak.

This seems like a wonderful idea, especially to prevent lag. I love the animations, but if it helped to speed things up, I'd be more than willing to turn them off.

I agree that I'd like this option, even if it would optimize play just slightly. It's irritating for the game to slow to a crawl then freeze in the middle of a battle. 8(

Yeah it worked alright for me when I lived with my mom and used her computer. Even then it wasn't perfect, but at least it ran semi-smooth. For now I'm stuck borrowing my roommate's netbook and there's no way in hell the coliseum would work for me even if the site was in tip top shape.
