Biography

COULRIOTH

6343.png
5668.png
He was raised and trained by the progenitors of the next clan, and picked up a more manly demeanor from one of the other ridgebacks. As much as Coulrioth spent a swell time in this clan, his instincts were just begging him to pack his bags for another adventure.

Coulrioth landed in the Clan of Arcane Light next, where he received more training and a tarnished steel belt from one of his hunting escapades. The ridgeback felt proud of his progress, so much so that he eagerly spread his wings and took off to a new flight.

It did not take long, however, before the ridgeback flew back to Opal and Co.--this time with a friend in tow. Coulrioth had talked Tempest's ear off about their training regimen, how everyone knew how to fight and even travelers were encouraged to participate. It did not take much convincing for the young ridgeback to lead them back to where the clan called home.

Though he did not receive as much training as he had before, the ridgeback felt proud of his friend's progress, and encouraged him all along the way. When both dragons were of equal strength the matriarch allowed them to continue their travels.

He showed up in Wyverra's lair on his own, but has met another traveling dragon there - Wicca, with whom he continued his training under the wings of tundra Avalanche. They have been taught how to ambush their opponents and decided to move on to the next location together.

Arriving in Rue's lair a little weary from the cold, Wicca and Coulrioth weren't sure of the Abiding Boneyard at first, but they were welcomed in with surprising ease. Coulrioth was eager to begin his training once more with his mate Wicca. He hadn't expected to become so fond of her, but now he doesn't know what he'd do without her. For the time being, they simply became comforting in the new strange lair that they had been welcomed to.

Coulrioth became fast friends with a parentless Nocturn named Honey who had dreams of leading her own lair one day, and also became quite fond of the hatchling Pearlcatcher named Tyrion. Tyrion, although small, was eager to begin his training when he became an adult, and Coulrioth pledged that he'd teach him.

After sharing many nests with Wicca and having quite a fun, relaxing time with Rue and her family, he's decided to move along and take a different path from his lover. They exchanged flair scarves so that they may remember each other for many days to come.

For many days Couliroth wandered alone, growing more and more heartsick as the distance from his mate grew farther with each step he took. Eventually he found himself trapped in the endless expanse of the Wandering Contagion, lost in its indiscernible tendrils. That is, until he found the Clan of Blistering Skulls. They took him in mostly out of curiosity, since none of them had ever met a Ridgeback face-to-face before. But very quickly the clan became irritated by his instinctual "borrowing" of items from the hoard. He couldn't get much training in or build many relationships before they kicked him out and sent him on his way. Oh well. The Contagion was no place for giants like him anyways.

The next clan Coulrioth came too wasn't very friendly at all. They sent him off on a dragon trade thread before he could do much more than catch his breath.

The clan who took him off the trade thread was very surprised to learn that he was a Traveler. They were called Wind's Rest, and had fostered many Travelers themselves, and had two or three members of their own who become Travelers. One of them, a Pearlcatcher a couple of months older then Coulrioth, Asher, showed Coulrioth around, and told him about the clan. Coulroith soon fell in love with this cozy, isolated community, and decided to stay there forever. He became a mentor to King, the lair's only resident Ridgeback, and asked the king, Arben, to try and find Wicca for him. Arben searched far and wide, and soon discovered that Wicca had been exalted. For a while, Coulrioth was crushed. He would never see Wicca again. But soon his optimistic nature perked him up again, and he became mates with a young Pearlcatcher named Ania, and offered a temporary mating to Maple, Asher's mate, so they would have iridescent younglings, something Maple had been longing for. Everyone involved was fine with it, so Maple and Coulrioth would have younglings together before going their separate ways.
Coulrioth has fled with all the others who, like himelf, have parents from other lairs, or are from other lairs. They flee the wrath of Queen Filino, who would have them all killed.
Ania was discovered by Queen Filino's soldiers, and killed. Coulrioth is crushed. Will all his mates be taken from him? At least he still has Coal, Ania's son.
Coal is now full grown, and Coulrioth feels no need to remain. He will leave, and begin his journey anew. The only thing he will take with him is Ania's Golden Birdskull Necklace.

Here the winds gust strongly, and create a melody of peace.

The next place Coulrioth travels to is a dark forest. Here he meets a lovely lady named Triskele. Eventually they leave together.

Time passed, and adventures were had. Him and Triskele went their separate ways eventually, and he found himself woefully alone once again. That's when he met Rohirrim. She, too, found herself alone. And soon enough, they found themselves alone... together.

They traveled together for a long while, the two of them settling together with a clan in the windswept plateau. It wasn't long until the two made friends with a few of the other residents, including Ninetythree, a brave warrior of their clan. They became close friends, battling side by side through many skirmishes and fights.

Eventually Coulrioth made his way off again, Rohirrim in tow, leaving behind his new and dear friends, hoping to see them again someday.

Coulrioth and Rohirrim eventually came to a beautiful clan named Elysian, tucked far back into the Tangled Wood. The Shadow clan was warm and welcoming, and he found himself at home in the magical place, though he had no magic of his own. But unlike Coulrioth, Rohirrim never liked the beautiful clan.

As The Night of the Nocturne came upon them, Pea, a leader of Elysian, offered to help train Coulrioth. She saw potential in him, so he agreed to help the clan in the joyous event. And while they were training, Coulrioth came upon a Nocturne egg. Him and Pea took it back to Elysian, and a few days later a beautiful Nocturne, as dark as midnight, hatched.

Rakasa was a treasure, and Coulrioth knew to keep her safe. He was there when her scales came in, and they realized she was so special she looked as if she was born of the stars. Perhaps she was.

Then Coulrioth met Toci, an enthusiastic, talkative female Ridgeback. They instantly became friends, and Toci often let him tag along on her hunting journeys.

But as time went on, Coulrioth realized he was.. different than the dragons of Elysian. Rakasa soon grew, and she drifted away from the Ridgeback. And while quite a few of the dragons in Elysian bore dark colors like him, they were still bright, cheery, and.. beautiful. After a while, he felt like he didn't belong in such a bright lair when he was so dull. Toci refused to let him believe that of himself and tried her hardest to cheer him up, but he had already made up his mind. That night, he and Rohirrim left Elysian in search of a new adventure.

Uh-oh, looks like this adventurous Ridgeback wandered a little too far from his lair (Kaj, 2980), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.
