Malik

Malik is a good-humored dragon that was adopted into the clan in its founding days. He joined as a hatchling along with his surrogate sister, Luyu. The two were trained together to be an unbreakable battle team, but the Ridgeback soon discovered he was much more passionate about history and literature than fighting. He retired from the coliseum and let another dragon take his place, but he still remains very close to Luyu. Though many in the clan only see him as a shut-in librarian, he still remembers some old tricks from his glory days.

Malik is in charge of the clan's library, and spends his time procuring more books, studying, and assisting others in search of knowledge. The pair Joy and Wander are his unofficial underlings, with Joy in charge of chronicling current history and clan happenings while Wander conducts field research and returns with pages and pages of messy notes. Malik has great regard for the ways of the Light flight and does his best to show respect for the clan's Light representative, Prince, even though the Pearlcatcher is much younger and rather stuck-up.
