Originally born to a clan residing in the Rotrock Rim crater, Laktose was sent out into the world when he had barely become an adult. He flew over the Sea of a Thousand Currents and settled in the Shifting Expanse, where a mafia clan in the Carrion Canyon became his first home outside of Plague territories. Here he soon became the first level 25 dragon of the lair. Laktose had to fight hard to get to the top and as such had earned himself quite the reputation. He took pride in his job as chief advisor to the mafia bosses and found joy in disciplining the trainees all the same. However, as more dragons within the mafia rose in their ranks and levels, Laktose realized that it was time for him and his partner to move on and find themselves a new clan with less competition for the high ranks.

They headed north, crossed over the Sunbeams Ruins that had little appeal to them, and eventually landed within the Shrieking Wilds. Here they became part of the clan Romanus, making themselves a new home in the dense, jungly overgrowth. The Ridgeback and his partner quickly picked up their work and made themselves useful by doing what Laktose loves most: Pushing trainees to their limits in order to be their very best. And for that he never gets help except from his dear partner Intoleranz, whom he trusts blindly. Together they train others in the Kelp Beds to serve their deity, the loyalty for which now had shifted from the Boss to the Gladekeeper alone. Occasionally they drill their own offspring in an effort to form a Coli squadron as well.

During one of those drill programs the stern Ridgeback male, whose body gleams in pure white, received an eye scar from the sneaky whiplash of a Mantarune. With an unfazed expression he kept fighting and sure enough defeated the wicked deepwater monster. From that day on he decided to put on protective eyewear, and committed his partner to do the same. The matching red uniforms symbolize their loyalty to each other and also make Laktose's white Katana stand out well. If unsheated, its blade shows some signs of wear as well as a slight red tint from left-over bloody residue.

Besides Intoleranz, an Octoflyer named Maverik keeps him company.
