Etesian has been riding the winds since he was small. He never stayed in one place too long, always searching for the next breeze to take him somewhere new. He has visited most of Sornieth hunting down the best updrafts and strongest gales he could fling himself into. His favorite so far is a hidden current above Starwood Strand. The current is long and looping and infused with magic that makes his body tingle and the sky to be iridescent with colors never imagined before.
Etesian searched high and low, and finally found his greatest challenge. The Twisting Crescendo. He knew if he crossed this tempest, he would be the best flyer in existence. Etesian spent months preparing himself for the dangerous journey. At last, he attempted to traverse the Twisting Crescendo. He was battered and thrown around by the powerful winds, but somehow managed to make it through only slightly dizzy. He was overwhelmed with happiness, and continued to fly on with his eyes closed, oblivious to his surroundings. He flew directly into a blizzard that swept him into the Snowsquall Tundra where he crashed into a near frozen lake.
Versiaz came upon Etesian less than an hour after he fell, and saw him struggling to stay afloat. She dragged him over to the bank, and called the clan to help. They revived him and nursed him back to health as best they could. Unfortunately, both his wings had suffered severe nerve damage, and he would never fly again. Despite his infirmity, he was still the revered flyer that made it through the greatest storm in Sornieth.
I am only truly alive feeling the wind in my wings.
