Galactica here is the clan shaman and worships the Shade. Her Companion Comet is in fact the vessel for an astral projection of hers named Suisei, who is an Imperial.

I call it an astral projection because I don't know what else to call it. Galactica actually has a sort of other consciousness, which takes the form of that Companion Comet. Suisei IS the comet (which is fitting because her name is Japanese for "comet"). Suisei can take the form of a physical dragon- the Imperial you see- but normally flies in erratic patterns around her true Pearlcatcher body.
