Biography
"I must never hurt anyone again... this power... it is... overwhelming..."
Born in the Reedcleft Ascent, Absinthe was graced by the presence of a Sparkle Nymph soon after his hatching. The nymph was traveling through the area in search of a new patron and felt the pull of Absinthe’s great magical power. Straight out of the egg, Absinthe had two sets of antlers, and they grew along with his magical prowess.
Strong in all the ways of sorcery, Absinthe was able to begin training at an early age, but he did not take it seriously. As he grew through childhood, however, his erratic physical growth was accompanied by erratic arcane growth as well. As a young teenager, Absinthe was practicing flight on the Ascent’s cliffs with the nymph when a sudden gust of wind brushed all of the dragons off of the cliffs. A flightless snapper went plummeting down to the rocks when Absinthe attempted to rescue them with a burst of transportation magic. The idea was that the snapper would disappear from midair and reappear at the top of the cliff-instead, the snapper was transported into the cliff, where they were uncovered as a pulpy mass of flesh and bone.
Even though his intentions were good, Absinthe was exiled from the Wind flight. Murder, especially by magic, was absolutely forbidden. Without friends or family, Absinthe wandered Sornieth. He decided that he had not devoted enough time to taming his powerful gift, and so he sought some kind of shelter that would not be damaged by his magical outbursts. Many dragons directed him to Dragonhome, where the stone cliffs would not be damaged largely by arcane training. After months of solid travel, Absinthe and his nymph made it to the Cairnstone Rest, where he settled into one of the cliffside caves.
Hunting for food one morning, Absinthe ran into a dragon dressed in some strange robes. The dragon introduced himself as a monk, and explained to Absinthe how increased meditation and peacefulness can be used to tame erratic magic. Absinthe began to learn the way of the Cairnstone Monks, and over the next several decades, Absinthe lived in solitude save for his nymph, developing his abilities and meditation techniques. For every successful test he passed, he was given a piece of the monks’ traditional garb, which he still wears today in the Shifting Expanse.
In order to maintain control over his abilities, Absinthe enchanted his own body with strips of arcane ribbon, which “tie” his abilities down, making them easier to control.
Now, Absinthe is arguably as powerful as some of the lesser demigod dragons. His arcane talents and raw magical power make him a very dangerous opponent. However, his monk training has made him vow to restrain his abilities unless it is a situation of dire need. A monk should live peacefully, and seek all diplomatic solutions before resulting to any shred of violence.
While things are sought after, often the world tells an epic like never before.
Falling upon the shore, Absinthe.
Gone, rejected, but powerful
Powerful
A world seldom used to describe
Powerful
Something deep inside
Control nonexistent, confusion imminent
The power of the Absinthe is dangerous
Dangerous
Something he doesn't want to be
The struggle
Something hard to see
Absinthe
Thrown away from his clan
Absinthe
Living in Dragonhome, alone again
Absinthe
Alone -- a word from which one should abstain

Usually I don't like overly dressed dragons to this extent, but Absinthe really pulls it off. That accent really makes the look too! Not to mention his base genes and colours are pretty uwu

Absinthe's quite the handsome boy, that much is clear. He's a good old boy for sure, I even like his colors at baseline.
I wondered if he was a monk-ish figure, and you were able to portray it well just in his thumbnail. When it comes to apparel, sometimes having a fully covered dragon can personally be hit or miss to me. I'd always prefer to see more creative uses of accents and clothing than one whole set. (That said, it's a set for a reason and looks great together at baseline). So, I suppose added a few more not-Celebration Sage items may just take him to the next level. Though, he's on his way with his accent.
Personally, I enjoy his lore, though a Monk named after alcohol seems a tad silly unless he was playing on a drunken monk motif. Though, the fact that his profile layout is infuriating for reason that it has a horizontal scroll bar. That's also a personal beef, though. Errrrg.
Thank you for sharing him, though. I quite enjoy his whole self, sans some nitpicking.
