Biography
Monotropa uniflora, Latin "once turned," "single flower."
Also known as: Corpse Plant, Fairy Smoke, Ice Plant, Ghost Pipe.
Ghostflower came as an apparition, speaking little and carrying some unknown burden with him. With no name to begin with, he named himself using the conventions adopted by Iris' lair. He seems to find humor in everything, including his name, which suggests something both living and dead.
He enjoys living in obscurity, performing rituals others would ostracize him for. His vivid grin is just as vicious as it is jolly. And he would help you die as readily as serve you a fine cup of tea. One lump or two?
Two young mirrors attracted to ... something ... perhaps it is his vaguely dangerous yet humorous air, or perhaps it is the air of the outcast they can relate to. Regardless, other denizens of the clan consider this to be some strange harem indeed.
He has a habit of acquiring some bizarre and dangerous familiars. First a Venomous Toridae, and later a Snarling Mimic. Beneath the latter's tongue, he keeps his treasures, a mystery to all but perhaps the mimic and Ghostflower. And as for the former, he kept for a long time, and after it had Awakened, he thought he could entrust it to a new charge, whom named herself Periwinkle after Vinca. It turned out not to be the case, and now he has an angry familiar and an angry teenager on his claws.
Later, he received a letter and care package from his mother, Kyros, the matriarch of her clan. With them, new charges: Woodland Turkey, Black Iron Creeper, and Maren Scout, as well as a Shattered Serpent. He will put them to good use. From a Gilded decorative chest, he received a forest rogue cape. He has not removed it since he received it. With the package, a scroll with the Smoke Gene spell. Once the new familiars were settled in (as much as they ever would be), he got to work performing the spell. And, rumor has it, he has set his projects aside to compose a letter...
(Thank you Kyros, and Air, for these many gifts! 21 February 2016)
He would much rather be alone than surrounded by drama.
More thank yous:
Ghostflower is my second purchase on this site! MoonGlory (Air).
Snarling Mimic familiar was a Christmas (2014) gift from Anguish.
