Name: From Latin aura (“a breeze, a breath of air, the air”), from Ancient Greek αὔρα (aúra, “breeze, soft wind”), from ἀήρ (aḗr, “air”).


Perhaps the most initially controversial of the clan's priestesses, Aura wasn't the clan's first choice for a Wind ambassador. On the first day of the 2015 Jamboree, Clan Diamond Dust had, in fact, picked a Windy Spiral named Gale as the clan representative. But, as the festival approached its end, the clan leaders were left with a lingering doubt that they may have made a mistake in their choice. No doubt Gale would have been an excellent representative - she was the perfect embodiment of a Wind dragon in both nature and style (windy colors, spiral breed). The clan just wasn't sure if she was an excellent choice for them.

The day after the festival, one of the clan leaders noticed a posting by DarkFlier (#114805) regarding a Wind dragon looking for a new clan. Surely, there was no harm in meeting this dragon... One thing led to another and the clan leaders found themselves with TWO Wind dragons vying for the ambassador position. The clan leaders warned the Imp that they were looking for a Spiral, and she nodded and said it would be no problem - could be fun!


The two rivals eyed each other for weeks, although Aura acted perfectly friendly and carefree, as if the situation didn't bother her at all. Finally, the clan leaders came to the reluctant conclusion that they couldn't keep two Wind priestesses and they needed to make a decision before it dragged on any longer.

While Gale seemed perfect for the role, Aura just seemed to fit into the clan better. Her joyful, carefree, friendly nature soon swept any lingering doubts away among clan members. The clan leaders felt a bit guilty, but when a neighboring Ice clan (Ankypants) who was departing chose to gift Clan Diamond Dust with a bright Imperial accent that brought out all of Aura's Windy colors, they took it as a sign that they made the right choice.

Later, when Aura was asked about the Spiral breed change, she merely shrugged. It may have made more sense for a Wind representative, but apparently it didn't make sense for her, especially since she had been officially given the job already. In any case, she had a rather carefree attitude about the whole thing and the matter was eventually dropped entirely.
