Biography
MADRIGAL | the abomination
RIFTWALKERS | FORMER CLAN LEADER | unstable, unknowable, f̸͏r҉̶̵e͏҉e
"So dark and deep, the secrets that we keep..."
"I can see it in her eyes sometimes: a bottomless dark." "She is not of this world, not anymore. She does not belong to us."
DEAD...ISH
Not a dragon, not a spirit, not a demon. Madrigal exists in a betwixt, she is neither wholly one nor the other. She has grown out of her bounds, out of this reality, out of any shackles that might have dragged her down. She is Madrigal and she is the Rift, and they are, in many ways, one and the same. She watches her fellow dragons, and she knows they're watching back. She knows how their eyes follow her when she flickers out of existence. She feels the way they spy on her, tracking her, witnessing as she gathers darkness in her bossom and weaves complex supernovas that pop and churn and turn to dust in her paws. They're afraid of her; she can almost taste it, hot and bitter on her tongue. They should. They really should. "She was often likened to a calm lake with still waters and mirror-like surfaces. As far as she could tell, whoever spoke of her like that wasn't entirely off the mark - even if not in the way they'd meant it. Madrigal was a still lake when she wished it - and her whole personality could be a reflective surface with sharp edges smoothed down by shadows and darkness. You could see your reflection on her dark eyes, enough of it to disguise the writhing flickers of something alien behind her unwavering gaze. There was an unsolvable riddle floating in the undercurrents of her voice; a silent hymn that crawled into your brain and refused to leave. The echo of it would haunt you for days, but then you'd forget about it; some things aren't meant to be known." |
