CARBENTUS
(Formerly SUNNYCORAL)

[ BATTLE MAGE ]
The Unwilling Guard

For unbeliavble as it seems, SunnyCoral was at first in charge of the duties towards the hatchlings. She was the nurse, and all the first younglings of the clan passed trough her loving embrace. She saw Ashmore and his brother and sister come into the world, and saw the young male Guardian staying in his parent's lair only behind the promise he would later become the guard's leader.

After Angelrage came into the clan, bringing all her fury with her, and Ashmore became more and more entusiastic about fighting, she found herself in a difficult position: there were no other eligible dragons in the lair able to become warriors. Only the progenitors and some of the others were able to fight, and they had already started their training.
A full team was needed.

And so Sunny left the title of nestkeeper, still waiting for her own first eggs to hatch (and not yet sure about her mate), and started battling. She became strong, one of the strongest dragons of the clan. As the armor was put on her, her tiny claws transformed into deadly weapons and, when the bandages from the hits received fell off, she found her sinuous body to be irrimediably scarred. Although never particularly fond of her role, she has three things in her life she's particularly proud of: having been here since the very beginning, being the smallest AND fiercest dragon of the lair and, most of all, having finally and happily become the mother of four beautiful little dragons, who all found loving homes to take care of them. (Except for Rouen, who decided to stay by his mother's side)

The clan abruptly agreed to her will of never allowing her kids to go serve the gods, so to not force them to fight against their will, like what happened her, and instead mostly send them among newly founded lairs to lend a paw where sombody is in need.

When a younger battle team formed, SunnyCoral found the right occasion to step aside. She was now even more determined to not cause harm to other living beings anymore, no other reason to do so as she was not desperately needed anymore. The old team dismembered and each of them respecialized.

Sunny had hoped she could go back to her original role of hatchling caretaker, but as soon as she saw her reflection without the helmet she had been wearing for so long, she felt something was wrong inside her.
Her scars had healed and disappeared, yes, but her inner scars were still burning open. That wasn't her place, the nursery where she now was wasn't the place meant for her.

She couldn't go back to slaying creatures as she once did, but the call of the coliseum was still strong. The small Nocturne was struggling to find a solution, when her beloved son Rouen came in her help. He had heard his mother was reluctant to wear her helmet again, so he gifted her a Crimson Fillet, an item to keep her mind safe.

This piece unexpectebly woke something up inside the Shadow dragoness: a hint of magic power, that had stayed dormant until that very moment.
Feeling a particular pull, SunnyCoral darted to the clan's hoard, looking for something that could help her unleash the potential she could feel buinding up inside her. She found some Scholar battlestones, and absorbed the knowledge from them. Her wings started sparkling with vivid red, while she had already moved on to the next battlestone: Aid.

Bursts of green light spread from her bright wings, while Rouen showed up next to her, worried sick, alongside her mate Marshstriker.
Taken in a surge of magic, SunnyCoral used her powerful Eliminate one last time, while the knowledge of the secret to its use was fading from her mind. Her empowered paw landed on hes son's muzzle, causing him a deep cut over the eye. As she realized what had happened, Marshstriker had already put her down, holding her gently but firmly with his weight.

The female Nocturne wanted to cry. How could she hurt her own son? She fled from her family and retired to an isolated spot of the lair, meditating her cruel destiny. What to do? The battler's instinct was deeply hers at this point, and the feeling of the battlefield could not leave her. She was still wearing part of her armor at that very moment, mixed with the pieces her son had given her.

She remembered the Aid spell she had learned so little time before the terrible incident. She knew how to cast it, but she was not ready to make it work. she left the clan's territory, headed to a place where sha was sure to find some items she needed to improve.

A few days later, the whole Clan Council had gathered around a very weak Rouen to discuss his situation. His wound had started to get infected and he was in danger, while his mother was nowhere to be found. But during that very Council, a dragon wrapped up in a Red Mantle showed up, an empty Tincture of Dissolution tied to its waist. The dragon raised a paw on the ill Nocturne and cast a very powerful Aid, curing him of all his sickness and leaving nothing but a light scar on his skin.

That dragon was Sunny, wearing a badly assorted mixture of Armor, Mantle and Fillet. She had tinctured herself and learned spells so powerful she could now enter the battelfield again, only this time not as a warrior, but as an healer mage.

Quote:
SunnyCoral really enjoys watching the sunset, often getting lost in how twinkly the water gets while the sun vanishes. If not careful, she'll come home with pounds of seashells that sparkle just like the sun.
