Biography

Tyurico
The Travelling Trickster. He-Who-Shines-Radiant.
Adventurer Extraordinaire.

Uh-oh, looks like this hyperactive noodle soup wandered a little too far from his lair (139392, Korpinsiipi), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Crash. Bang. Smoke in the air.
These are the workings of a trickster.

Tyurico has always been a prankster. Having grown up with a pearlcatcher with equally active personality, the pair soon became the resident trouble makers of their home clan. Their favorite pass time was playing tricks on their clan's treasurer, sometimes snatching gems from right under the great imperial's nose.

However, after their first Wavecrest Saturnalia, his best friend began to lose his interest in pranks and took on a more serious look in life, beginning to actually help his clan take care of itself. Tyurico, tired of playing tricks just by himself, decided it was time for him to see the world. With promises to keep in touch with his clan and to one day return, he set off to find new adventures.

Traveller's Log - First Travel

The first clan he visited was a busy, hectic, but fun loving group who rejoiced in bringing more hatchlings into the world. There was a big library in their lair, carved from the very ice, with magical fires that kept the lair warm. Though this was an ice clan, their leader was a tundra who was an Arcanist, and so magic was revered in the clan.

Tyurico stayed for a long time in this clan, because the clan was go bad at keeping track of time that they forgot to tell Tyurico that he'd been there for countless months. But finally, as the warmth of summer reached down and finally touched the lands of ice, it was warm enough for him to move on. Tyurico had left a mark of his own- hatchlings he brought forth into the world with some of the dragons of the clan.

He next landed in a Wind clan, where he was welcomed warmly. Tyurico struck up friendships with some of the other young bachelor dragons, who reminded him of his friendship with Zourel. He joined them in being the resident pranksters and young layabouts of the clan. Eventually, however, his friends started gaining positions with responsibilities and many even started having children. Reminded of the situation with Zourel, Tyurico decided it was time to leave his friends and the clan behind.

Traveller's Log - Homecoming

After many travels, he finally returned home to the clan that had raised him. Though still active and mischievous, his travels had considerably calmed him down from before. He greeted his best friend Zourel with joy, retelling the tales of his journey with glee.

His stay with his home clan lasted several years, during which he aided the clan's trackers and hunters in navigating the world around them, based on his experiences as a traveler. Though still very active, as spirals are prone to be, it seems his travels had curbed his constant mischievousness to only an occasional prank among his friends.

He witnessed the clan's journey to the opposite side of Sornieth when they abandoned the Starfall Isles in favour of the Shifting Expanses. Having never visited the lands of Lightning Flight before, Tyurico felt content in exploring his new homelands while he helped his clan to settle down.

But a traveller's journey is never truly done, and after a time wanderlust began to eat at him again. His desire to stay with his friends, with the clan that had raised him and with whom he'd experienced so much, rivalled against his desire to see more of the world, to experience its wonders, and perhaps to make new friends along the way.

And so, with a heavy heart he bid his clan farewell. His friends supported him, wishing only to see him happy, and if travelling was what made him happy then they would never hold him back from his heart's true desire. Gladdened by the support he was given, he promised he would return if ever travelling no longer excited him, and he was promised in return that he would always have a place back with his clan - at his Home.

Traveller's Log - Second Journey

Tyurico landed right into the warm lair of the Nostrostos Clan and received a warm welcome. He quickly became friends with a number of other dragons, but Greenskeeper, the Ambassador of the Nature Clan, really caught his eye and they had a lovely nest together.

After spending some relaxing time the warmth of the lair was slowly straining him and it was time for him to leave.

Traveller's Log - Journey 2.5

Female dergs aplenty overran Arcane's Clan Mavenlark, and scarcely one without a story! Displaced, dishonored, discouraged, distrustful - most had known their fair share of misfortune, and the clan's atmosphere of anonymity within its sprawling refugee-based city let stories bleed freely from the lips of whoever could find someone to entertain. Tyurico couldn't help but feel that some of the stories were a little dramatic, but others had him in the grips of such tumultuous experiences, he could scarcely breathe. He had the idea of laying a nest or two at some point, given the selection available to him and his ever-growing need for some intimacy; the kind that plagues most solitary travelers. But Mavenlark was not the right time or place. He continued on shortly after arriving. It wasn't even a great place for pranks - he couldn't shake the feeling that even the funniest of jokes would somehow make it into some dragon's great ongoing list of misfortunes...

No longer enchanted by Clan Mavenlark, Tyurico found himself traveling again. After some time, he ended up stumbling into a Nature clan, the Clan of Laurels and Moss. After a a rather intimidating meeting with the clan leader Viceroy, Tyurico soon found that the clan was very welcoming to travelers, providing that they'd be willing to work during their stay. To his delight, most of the clan members were good natured towards his pranks Some dragons even joined in, like a spiral named Fawna. Fawna was a seasoned traveller like him, and was very happy to be able to exchange stories. She was even able to convince Tyurico to gain a bit of battle training, and so she took him under her wing. Their shared experiences made them grow quite close, and together they had a single egg.

It was no surprise that their son Alorn began to dream about the life of the traveller. Both his parents were supportive, of course, but Fawna wanted him to stay until he was a bit older. Unfortunately, Tyurico didn't seem to take her desires too seriously. After a joke that was misinterpreted as approval for his son to leave, Tyurico saw Alorn begin his travels without consulting either of his parents or the leader, which was customary for the clan. That joke put an end to his relationship and goodwill among the clan. He set out shortly after.

Traveler's Log: The Forest Falls Sanctuary/ Haven of the Sunflower Fields

When Tyurico found his way to a thriving village in the Viridian Labyrinth, he assumed he'd stay for a while, have some adventures, pull some pranks, and move on when he got bored. He didn't expect the clan itself to move on, but that decision was announced about a season after he arrived - around the time he was starting to get close to a pretty Spiral lady, Hannah, around his own age. In other words, she was no spring basilisk either. So he was pleasantly surprised when she wanted to share a nest, albeit a little wary after what had happened at the last clan.

Luckily, there was no such drama waiting for him. Their sons stayed closer to home than he ever had, and in time, when most of the members of the clan had either departed for other clans or packed up their things and torn down their houses - a Nature Flight custom he'd never seen in action, though considering the Nature Flight it made a lot of sense - he joined them in a caravan to the Sunbeam Ruins.

It kept his interest, anyway, watching a village be built from the ground up; he helped at times, pranked the workers at others, and was generally welcome as long as he earned his keep. Seasons passed, and the village became fully established, with only a few buildings under construction at a time. The general air of excitement gave way to the day-to-day business of life, and Tyurico began feeling the itch to travel again. He said goodbye to Hannah (they'd never nested again, but they were still close) and to a few other friends, and set out for the next destination.

Feel free to add to his bio during his stay in your lair!

NOTE: Tyurico is a seasoned traveller, and he would appreciate moving without the extra weight of apparel. Feel free to dress him up while he visits your lair, however! He would even like if you shared his wardrobe here.
