Scars ravage her body from previous battles, her once shimmering scales covered in ugly scars. Kasai doesn’t mind though, she has witnessed pain and suffering, some caused herself, that she doesn’t care about herself anymore. She has always been the most ruthless fighter, even training her calico companion to fight to kill. After failing in a battle against a large Beastclan’s warrior, she tore out her own claws and replaced them with the strongest materials Blaze, the clan forger, and Tome, an extremely magically adept dragon in the clan, could muster. She wears red and gold gloves over her hands to cover the ghastly and malformed scars.

Her scars are her badges, she wears them with honor and uses them to intimidate her enemies, dragons and beasts alike. Kasai’s name translates to fire in an ancient and unknown tongue and it corresponds well with her angry personality. Everything she wears has the purpose of battle in mind, a blood-red standard draped across her wings, Zeeba horns as a spoil and intimidation factor, and a powerful chest plate and helmet she scavenged and improved upon herself. However, the only item worn for appearance is a small copper necklace from her sister.

Kasai’s sister was sent to a sister clan, the clan leader was close friends to Clya, while Kasai was sent to Clya’s clan. While they were separated at birth, they later found each other by accident when Kasai visited Malachite’s clan on diplomatic matters from Clya. The two sisters immediately became close again, sneaking away from clan duties to meet and talk to each other. Later, however, when Malachite’s clan moved to the Sunbeam Ruins, Kasai’s sister was exalted to the Arcanist’s forbidden realm and was never seen again. Kasai now wears the ornate necklace in her sister’s memory, as her sister used to wear one just like it. It is the only “dainty” item she will ever wear, as she hates being seen as “girly” “dainty” or feminine.

Kasai lives for the heat of battle and is constantly fighting in the coliseum and Beastclan camps. She refuses to train any dragon other than Cleo, her protege but is often disappointed in his merciful ways. She wants him to learn to kill, no matter what, and to not offer mercy as in the heat of battle his enemies wouldn’t offer him the same. Kasai, if not evident by her brutal ways, is a firm believer in survival of the fittest, if you aren’t strong enough to stand up to her then you aren’t strong enough to live. In hindsight, that thought is unfair, as few have survived Kasai to tell the tale, but she believes it all the same.

Even with being a mother, she has little to no motherly instinct and leaves all her children with Sunbird, her mate. She cares deeply about her fighting companion, a calico cat, but understands and accepts that death can happen to her at any point in time. Kasai has accepted death as a part of life and sees no unfairness in it. The only thing she cannot stand is innocent dragons being unwillingly exalted or slain without a chance or will to defend themselves. So she may understand death, may be brutal and powerful and uncaring about herself, but she does have a code to not kill those who refuse or can’t fight.

Kasai is very suspicious of Darke, a shady Spiral dragon who joined the clan recently after it was formed, and suspects that he is planning to bring Clya down as well as helping in kill any remaining Lyren. She has been watching him for months, planning on how to take care of him, but is waiting until she has proof that can take him down.

If I've learned anything about survival
It is kill or to be killed
There is no room for weakness
On life's bloody battlefield

If I've learned anything about survival
It's that your heart will always hurt
If you choose to love another
You'll learn that those feelings are not of worth

And I know what they say about emotions
About the beauty of love and life
But I've learn the hard way that caring
Brings nothing but sorrow and strife

And if you ask they'll say I loved my sister
And it's true, I still do, from the depths of my soul
For of all the dragons out there
She was the only light in my world

We trained together as family
She taught me all I knew and had
She was always there, by my side
Through the thin and thick and bad

And I trained myself to the morrow
For I wanted to be of use to the gods
So I left her on a journey
To find strength worth her applause

And I hated losing a battle
For a loss meant ten steps back
So I pushed myself to be stronger
To defeat all the enemies to be had

But, curse the gods, betrayal
When I returned my sister was gone
And I learned that the gods wanted her
But they told me to begone

And all that I'd ever worked for
All that I'd ever wished to be
Was torn from me, ripped from me
Ever so suddenly

And in despair I lost my first battle
In a fit of rage I tore out my claws
Replaced them with uncaring metal
The cold steel riding me of all my flaws

And I swore I would never care again
About another, about dreams, about worth
My life would be lived for fighting
Because that was the only way to not be hurt.

So if you ask whether I'd learned about survival
I'd tell you this: beware of love
For it's much easier to fight without feelings
As I've been taught by the gods above.
