Big Job, Small Dragon

Fluxx, the right-hand dragon of clan leader Laurel, is charged with overseeing the day-to-day duties within the lair, and also acts as the clan's official Lightning Representative during the Thundercrack Carnival. You'll often find the fae perched on Laurel's shoulder, squeaking orders and puffing out her chest to appear more intimidating to some of the larger dragons, who tend to quite literally look down on her. The little dragon's golem gauntlet and armor were made especially for her by the clan's Chief Engineer, and she likes to wear it around the lair to encourage the lazier residents to pull their weight.

Don't let her size fool you - Fluxx is a feisty fae! Her pals, Scunner and Teravolt, often have to keep an eye on their stubborn friend to make sure she doesn't get into trouble picking fights with the wild dragons who roam too close to the lair. Visitors face an inquisition from the crackling ball of suspicion that is Fluxx, who accosts them at the front gate for interrogation before being allowed to enter. As brave as a guardian and as fierce as a mirror, this territorial fae would give her life to defend her clanmates.

Their Story

Fluxx's egg was given to Laurel during her early travels before her clan was established. It was bestowed to the harpy hybrid by one of the oldest lightning lairs in the region, whose tradition it was to gift visitors with eggs from their nests so that the clan's hatchlings would find new homes from birth, and spread the ancient lineage of their dragons throughout The Shifting Expanse. Honored, Laurel carried the glowing egg with her everywhere she went, and eventually, once The Lastsparks had been founded, the egg was ready to hatch. From a web of cracks a little circuit-patterned figure pushed her way out, squeaking for attention. Typical of the contrary nature of the dragon, she was not a tundra or a guardian like her siblings, but a fae instead - an inheritance from the genes of a very distant paternal aunt, according to her older brother Vadol, who visits occasionally.

A bond had formed between Laurel and the fae even before the hatching - it was like they already knew each other, and they quickly became inseparable, with the harpy-serthis naming her new friend 'Fluxx'. Used to the voices of the other dragons, Fluxx learnt to communicate with the expressive common tongue, rather than the traditional fae monotone, and she soon established herself as Second-In-Command, a position which she maintains with pride and dedication.

While Fluxx may have a short fuse, she is a loyal friend if you are lucky enough to gain her trust, and The Lastsparks are very fond of their diminutive deputy.
