Biography
Neo Raveneye
"The Fallen" |
Brought under a several terrible curses, the poor imperial struggles to find acceptance between himself and his deeds.
Eventually the man from the shadows will see the light.
Neo was born to Nera Raveneye in the Shadow kingdom, together with his twin brother Nox. Ever since a young age, the older Raveneye twin was already showing great promise in the world of magic, which made his mother deeply concerned in return. After Neo's gift had been discovered, his mother started getting strange visits from a dark-haired man.
The visits felt endless - Day after day Neo watched as his mother was visited by the strange Imperial. Every visit would play out the same, as well - the man visited, argued with Nera and then promptly left into what Neo could only assume was the way towards the enormous building he had wondered about prior. He had a lot of questions, none of which he assumed he would get an answer to. However an answer he eventually did get, as his mother cried as the man one day came to pick up the young boy, essentially cutting him off from his family.
As he arrived at the enormous building, Neo's childlike mind was filled with wonder. It was not some huge villa or castle as he had thought, but rather an academy for the magically gifted. With his magical talent, he would study for years to come to become a successor of the Shadow deity.
Despite having a strict schedule with his studies, Neo had managed to befriend a young Fae and a young Imperial, both of who he soon grew fond of. Ariadne - the Fae - had soon become Neo's closest and most trusted friend with Osi - the Imperial - usually being the one to get them out of trouble (or at least try to).
With years came more studies, tougher conditions and more work. Neo started growing distant as the man who brought him here, Kgosi, had given him more and more work. Though thanks to this work, Neo and the two others had succeeded. They had become successors - Demigods chosen from the mortal folk, but ones gifted with unfanthomable power. Neo stood proudly as a Shadow successor, though he had grown cold and distant due to his studies. Even so, he still had a soft spot for his friends - especailly for Ariadne who he had grown romantically fond of.
With great power come great enemies, however. As Neo had distanced himself from the celebrations of his status, he ran into yet another Imperial. A blueish, tall dark man with blood red eyes. The Imperial smirked, and told Neo something the young Divine Imperial could not refuse. A promise of greater power - greater than anyone. Would that not make his mother proud, the one he hadn't seen since he was a mere child? Neo shook the man's hand, and the next he blinked he found himself drenched in blood with the corpses of his closest friends in front of himself. The grief struck him, and he had died right there, over the corpses of the ones he loved.
Little did he know, however, a spell had been cast before this - one of reincarnation.
Neo woke up again, on the old battlefield, around a thousand years after the burdens of what he had done. His heavy burden of murdering those close to him had been long forgotten by those who hadn't lived to hear the tales of what had happened the millenia prior, but Neo remembered - Neo had remembered everything he had done. After the deal with the Imperial man, Korvus, Neo had gotten possessed by him. After he had died of grief however, he had noticed he could not use his magic at all anymore. The once powerful Demigod was now puny and magicless.
He did not do the deed, but he had to live with it.
And live with it he did - He built himself a shabby hut in the forest and stayed there, occassionally going out to the market to get fresh ingredients for his meals. During his free time he also collected lost souls, even though they were fragile. He'd scoop them up and place them into bottles, before sliding them onto his bookshelf.
He was doing well for himself. Quite well actually, despite having been completely alone for years now. He wouldn't be alone forever, however, as he heard a familiar humming from the forest path. The voice was sweet like honey, almost entrancing Neo deep in his own thoughts. He went out, running directly into the familiar face of Ariadne.
Neo froze in shock, standing between the woman he once loved - the woman he once mauled. And yet the Fae stood in front of him, confused as if to why the tall man in front of her is blocking her path. Neo shook his head, and started chatting her up. It couldn't be Ari, right? He killed her - there's no way! But if he came back, maybe so did she? But if so, why didn't she recognize him?
