AS a Spiral, one would expect Bill to be twisty, not twisted. Bill is a master of sharp-toothed grins, pretty words, and ulterior motives, and at times acts as if he knows the deepest, darkest secrets of every dragon in the clan. Bill takes a lot of pleasure in puzzling his clanmates, down to the fact that he twists and curls himself in triangles instead of circles. He's also an expert at ciphers and cryptograms, capable of writing fluently in everything from Atbash to Vigenere to pictograms, and even in speaking in most of them as well (though that tends to sound too much like nonsense words for most dragons to believe). Bill also has a strange fondness for hoarding gold, hence his appointment as the clan treasurer—this, on the positive side, discourages the clan from making too many large purchases. Many swear that when they withdraw their gold, out of the corner of their eye they can see the Spiral with countless pairs of burning, staring eyes...upon turning around, of course, they only see the one, but Bill's smile is always wider than when they came in.

Bill's Ensorcelled Volume seemed to appear out of nowhere to fly by his side. The book is filled with strange symbols, as well as drops of a suspiciously red liquid. Bill dubbed the book Xrksvi—he pronounces it zerks-vee—the word "cipher" translated into Atbash. The pages' symbols never seem to be the same thing twice, but those that have seen them swear that they almost look like a cry for help from some poor soul.
