"Like a ghost haunting the slope", that's what her coach had said. Her coach, she now realised, had probably never seen a slope before in his life. Or a ghost, for that matter.

She'd practised as well as she could, and could just about disappear in the surrounding vegetation when an extrovert, or referee, one not excluding the other, appeared to head her way.

For now, she was just trying to consider why it wasn't trees they slalomed between, until she noticed one contestant running straight into one of the... Oh, that'd be a rather good reason not to use trees...

Day 3 - Ski Jumping

SoarSpot had a soft spot, for, well, soaring. Whatever the height. That had caused issues in the past, but as such had made him the best possible choice for this sport.

Save for the part where he wasn't keen on skis.

They'd found that out a bit late. Given that he had been born a Wind dragon, that really shouldn't have surprised anybody.

Still, being good at soaring, all that bothered him now was the landing. Snow, he'd learned since joining the Ice clan, was very little more than slightly more solid water, and he wasn't keen on that either... So in a way, that was the perfect sport for him. The further away from the snow he'd be, and stay, the better!

With the fuzz of the arctic gear keeping him warm, he felt a-buzz with excitement, the butterflies in his stomach turning to bees. He wasn't quite ready to collect honey just yet, but maybe a medal...

Day 1: Ski Jumping

SoarSpot was a returning competitor. After a moderately successful attempt the year before (he'd survived), he'd moved to warmer climates six months later, putting an end to his procrastinating training. Now he had a good excuse not to. Back in winter gear, he was about as confident as he'd been the year before, expecting roughly the same result: survival, with the added benefit that it wasn't more snow awaiting him home this time.

If the year that had passed had taught him one thing it was that the grass was not greener on the other side of the fence, and that the hunt for seafood wasn't easier either. Oh, and that skis were harder to come by. He'd 'accidentally' misplaced his pair during the move... 'Fortunately' some fellow clan members had helpfully lovingly crafted replacements for the ~~torture instruments~~ high-performance gear he now had firmly attached for his feet. They made walking difficult. They made everything difficult. Especially jumping, in fact...

True to his name and birth flight, he was ready to soar... But was he ready to stick the landing?

Somber was more used to racing the wind itself, faster already than her fellow clan members, which often led her to be sent on various errands, so long as it wasn't anything heavy. She lived in the sky, loved the way the air wrapped around her like a second shroud. It was her home more so than the lair itself.

She had every intention of sweeping past other competitors, haunt them, overshadow them, even. No hard feelings, she knew people expected light rather than darkness ahead of them, but they could be the calm that came after her storm.

She kept her eyes everywhere, the main pair on the target, the finish line... Darkness on ice, swift, efficient, and, hopefully, fast enough.
