Stahli hatched alone at the very edge of the Scarred Wasteland. She spent most of her adolescence simply learning how to survive in the virulent landscape, relying only on herself and her own skills. It wasn't until she grew a bit older that she learned of the eleven Deities, gathering as much information as she could from passing travelers. In most of the tales and conversations she heard, the god that reigned over Stahli's homeland, the Plaguebringer, was depicted as harsh and cruel as the diseases she concocts in the bubbling Wyrmwound. However, the young mirror was enthralled, and she soon realized the importance of the great Plague Mother. She could see then, even rot and decay has its place. Without death, life would have nothing to balance it out and disorder would creep over the land slowly. With her newfound beliefs, Stahli created a goal for herself: Found a formidable clan in the name of the Plaguebringer in order to uphold the deity's ideals.

Her clan began to grow, slowly at first, although it was not anything like the fierce army she had pictured. Dragons from all over Sornieth, misfits who could find no other place to stay, all found their way to the edge of the Plague territory in one way or another. Stahli desperately wanted to be as ruthless as the Plaguebringer she so worshipped - Survival of only the fittest - but some softer part of her could not turn the wanderers away, no matter how weak they were. She deeply cares for her whole clan as if they were her own hatchlings, but this has led to a conflict in her mind. She isn't sure whether she wants to continue spreading and thriving, casting aside those too weak to survive on their own, or if she wants to protect the ones she cares for with her life. She is greatly respected by the clan, whatever she does. She can be straightforward and aggressive, although she does have a gentler side that she rarely shows under her hard exterior.

Stahli's faithful companion, born from decay and rot. Cruor follows her around in her day-to-day duties as clan leader, acting as a guard. When the clan's exalt trainer Avalon was still being trained herself, Stahli would accompany her to the Ghostlight Ruins almost every day. Cruor followed Stahli home after a particularly long and trying day of training; too tired to fight the hound off, Stahli allowed it to follow her home. Cruor turned out to be a faithful companion rather than a ravenous monster like his kin.
