Born in a chance union of dust and the Windsinger's breath, Winona shoulders the considerable responsibility of being the original dragon of the clan. As the unofficial head of the ruling council she provides steadfast advice for everyday matters and intelligent strategy during conflict, occasionally remaining awake through the night to ensure that every plan has be perfected to the letter. During battle the others look to her for guidance, and more than once her foresight has saved dragons from injury or worse. Welcoming to newcomers, especially hatchlings, Winona hopes to create a safe haven from the beastclans wars and is determined to make any personal sacrifice to keep her family safe.

However, when it comes to her own life Winona tends towards indecision. If it wasn't for the steadying influence of her mate, Rudyard, Winona would still be seeking scroll after scroll, changing her body, her species or her colours. At first, she had a goal in mind, but as time went on her dissatisfaction grew, and what she once considered self improvement bloomed into an unhealthy obsession. With Rudyard's help Winona eventual came to tolerate and, eventually became content with her physical form. For Rudyard, her whirlwind, impulsive tendencies prevent his stagnation. Together they've raised over a dozen hatchlings, most of which inherited their mother's natural affinity for the Windsinger. Despite their compatibility, the nature of their species causes some unfortunate miscommunication. A confusing and amusingly erroneous introduction led to the strange nicknames the two bear, which much to their chagrin had spread throughout the clan, even to the hatchlings.
