Eirwen considers herself a motherly figure... but the rest of the clan steers clear of her condescension as best they can.

This is in fact a rather difficult maneuver to pull off, given that when Eirwen approaches another clan member, she doesn't take any form of no for an answer: if she has business with another, she will not be deterred until she's had her say.

All she wants is for everyone in the clan to look their best.

Only The Twins have been brusque enough to get her to leave them alone. Eirwen is at least wise enough not to provoke the best fighters in the clan; she knows they could crush her if she pushed them too far.

So she lets them be, though it galls her to see their exposed scars, and they ignore her.

Everyone else is not so fortunate. They suffer her attentions and her judgments, just so that she'll leave them alone more quickly.

Only Thanh seems oblivious to her barbed compliments - perhaps because she tries very hard to be coy around him. And somehow Porfiro can work with her in a civil manner.

The rest of the clan tolerates her simply because they don't want to deal with the massive headache-inducing tantrum she'd throw if they kicked her out. And they all pretend not to notice the antagonism between her and Haruna.
