Continue her Story Here! 01-30-18 Arrive in a new clan today, they are all very kind and welcoming, I only stayed for a little while before I was ready to move on. 01-31-2018 Arrived in a young lair today. They're all so young and full of dreams... I wonder? Should I stay? 03-01-2018 I did stay long in this clan, but what can I say? They're positively glowing with hope and dreams. It's entertaining to see. And that Hime fellow is lovely. I still don't know if I'll stay longer but I enjoy their company so that's all that matter for now. Today, our first hatchlings were born, a sweet little girl and one quiet little boy. 23-05-2018 I had other hatchlings with Hime, and my time with them all was great... But I feel wanderlust taking over me again. And so, I bid my farewell and we parted ways. I still want to travel more than settling after all. 05-25-2018 The stars are so bright in the Windy clan I'm staying with for now. They've been teaching me constellations that you can't normally see back home with the heavy ash clouds. I was surprised when I learned that most of the nests were nestled under the lip of a ravine, but in hindsight it makes sense; what building material could be used to make a house that would easily be blown down? This clan has hosted a lot of other dragons, and hearing the stories that they've shared here is amazing. I want to keep travelling so that I can what else is there in the world. 05-26-2018 The clan I was leaving, Breezen was their name gifted me a well-used map as a farewell gift... Their signatures have been scrawled all over the back of it, and it even has the possible constellations that would appear in the summer sky sketched where I would be able to find them. It was rather messy and complicated actually, I had to take a few moments at a Crossroads, crouching over the parchment and attempting to decipher it... When a determined but lost looking red coatl approached. A sense of nostalgia overtook me, but I stopped myself from calling out a name I knew the coatl didn't have, she looked too different anyways, her feathers weren't crystalline, they were dull and mottled... Still, a smile overtook my face as bittersweet memories drifted in from the back of my mind- "Hello... I'm Smoky," Her warrior's confidence wavered, "Do you know where I can find a very powerful healer?" "How come?" I answered, only just now noticing the bloodied bandage around her waist... A strange black stain had formed on it. Curious. "I was fighting some Shade-taken, and I was wounded," Oh. It turned out the coatl was shade-touched. A small part of me recoiled, fearful and aware of how dangerous a shade infected wound could be, but another part of me, the stronger part wanted so badly to help. I needed direction anyways; it'd be good to stop flying aimlessly, "So you need healing?" I gave a grim smile, before offering to take her through the Tangled Wood. Perhaps the dragons of Shadow could heal something inflicted by the darkness. 05-30-2018 The clan lacked Shadow healers, the only ones capable of doing any healing were water dragons. I watched as they lowered Smoky into a basin of blessed water... Only for it to turn a murky black as soon as the wound touched it. Yeeziel, a painfully bright colored fae reacted quickly with her softer hued tundra mate, Palanga and pulled her out of the water. Palanga moved to constrain the water, but found that because it was now taken by the shade, it was out of his water magic's control. Yeeziel remained collected, and gave Smoky an enchanted Jabbot to stop her from infecting any other water source, but she was unable to truly cure her. For a moment, I saw Smoky's face fell... But I refused to give up hope. Surely, with my help, we can find a way to save her... together, but for now, "Let's just relax for a bit." 06-20-2018 We stayed in the Tangled Wood for a fortnight. Smoky's worries never truly subsided, and she was very impatient when it was time for us to go... But I... Fell in love with this place. When we took off, looked back at Mount Eurus and promised myself I would return, and i watched as the mountain itself faded away into the mist as we headed to the next clan that I believed would be able to heal my friend... July 1, 2018: We found our way to the Viridian Labyrinth, and a very friendly Wildclaw invited us to stay with her clan when she saw Smoky was hurt. We didn't get a chance to tell her Smoky was Shade-touched until we were in our lodgings (though to be fair, we weren't really trying; I wanted to let Smoky make the call on when to bring it up) and she freaked out a bit, but she didn't have us kicked out, and she brought us right to the healers. They have several, here! One was a pretty creepy pearlcatcher - I swear I saw a skull in his pearl while he was talking about cutting off limbs. I mean, it makes sense that if the shade infection starts in an arm, cutting off the arm would help reduce the level of infection, but the way he talked about it was creepy. The other healer we met, a tundra named Mosstail, seemed very kind. I left the room so he could examine Smoky, and then he called in a green skydancer, and long story short, they're planting a tree in her. I have to say, that's not what I expected from Nature healers! It fits, but it doesn't sound very comfortable. Smoky says she's willing to go through with it, though, so we're going to rest up for a few days to recover our strength and then they'll do the procedure. Right now they're just doing poultices, changing her wound dressing, and keeping an eye on her condition. I hope it helps! I hope it's not too painful. I still think Yeeziel may have the right idea, that we need to go on to Light territory for a stronger purification, but we'll see. Smoky seems calmer, here, with a solid plan for treatment, and that's good enough for me. July 16, 2018: Smoky's been through two trees, now. The first one looked horrible, but it helped; the second one looked really healthy and it didn't. She said it wasn't that painful, but she's also a warrior, so maybe she's just being tough. The healer thinks it's better than it was, but he can't do much more for her, so it's probably time to move on again. We'll see where we end up next! (unrecorded, written by Grail) July 24, 2018 Pocketnerd’s Shadow Clan “I think we should head to the Tangled Wood,” Smoky said tiredly a few nights later as we warmed our scales and sore wings around a fire. Well, Smoky’s Sore wings, distances like these were normal for me... I hoped we could find another clan to rest soon, for her sake. We were still in the Viridian Labyrinth, but we have left the kind Nature Clan a few days ago. My pink eyes fixated on her with concern, “You think the Shadows will know a little more on how to stop the Shade?” I saw her dip her head slightly in a nod. It made a lot of sense, the proposition, though I vaguely remembered a verse from Sornieth’s creation that even the Shadowbinder didn’t trust the Shade’s darkness. Still, it didn’t hurt to try. I had travelled there once before, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a few clans there. I ended up needing to crack my spine a little before going to bed. Smoky rolled her fluttering eyes at me in amusement as my back crackle with bones cackling together. Glad to know she still had a sense of humour. The next day, we met two pearl catchers who greatly enjoyed leading us in circles after we accepted their offer of allowing them to lead us to their clan. Smoky almost lunged herself at one when she realized they were just toying with us. I had to stop her before it escalated, “Wait! Smoky, they’re not worth it!” I pushed myself in front of her, attempting to force her to calm down and focus on me. Still, her long neck cranes over me, and she shoot a glare at the two liars whose dangerous expressions I didn’t see. Suddenly, a cool breeze came, I turned to it’s direction, and saw the pearl catchers smirks sink. They turned behind them as well, to find a tall, dark wildclaw who wore a sage cover that draped over her eyes. She smiled thinly at us, “Hello. My name is Doctor... I see you’ve met Loki and Toxic.” The pearl catchers nodded and bowed slightly to her, “Doctor!” The green one with pink ribbons chuckled lightly, “We have just found these travellers...” his voice lowered, “One needs medical attention.” “Doctor” nodded, “Ah, I do sense... a magical disturbance here.” She moves past the two pearl catchers, who gladly stepped aside and scampered off into the woods. It was just me, Smoky and the Doctor. “... I sense your infection.” From the corner of my eye, I see Smoky stiffen. “Doctor” didn’t seem to be a very pleasant individual, and yet... “Can you help me?” The doctor chuckled, “I can do a little more than that.” ————- She almost did, but long story short I was flipping through some spell books in the doctor’s library to find that the doctor planned to attempt a small experiment to see if the Shade within her could somehow be controlled. I didn’t like it. Not at all. I rushed to tell Smoky, who was preening herself nervously on an operating table. “We’re leaving.” Dismayed, Doctor let us without a word. —————— August 03, 2018 Glacierstar‘s Arcane Clan (Recorded by Grail) Week’s passed, and Smoky and I were heading to the Starfall Isles. Legend has it that the Shade came from the sky above, and who knew more about magic and the world beyond Sornieth than an Arcane clan? I smiled excitedly. It had been my home before I moved to the Domain of fire, and I had visited it several times in my travels. I was never able to visit my clan of birth again, but maybe this time... We heard a roar as we flew over the misty ocean, and a gang of marauders appeared from the mist and easily surrounded us. I... I didn’t know how to fight, I attempted to fly away before a ridegeback caught my wing with his claws. As for Smoky, despite her frightening lightning magic a nature raider had come and was ready to take her down- Suddenly, she roared and the bandages in her chest turned completely black as darkness began to ooze like light through the red feather charm and the cage of branches. The violent dragons cried out in shock, alarm and anger once made,, and suddenly everything went black... I woke up in a cell that day, where a wildclaw grinned at me with a smile made of gold. All my luggage was gone... and there I stayed unable to forget Smoky. Until the storm came. (Grail's recordings end.) September 09, 2018 Mercredy‘s wind clan Aug.2018 During her travel, Chandra had been caught by the terrible storm, which brought her to the territories of Wind Clan. When she finally found the ground, she realized that the part of her luggage had gone and her goggles got broken. The Wind dragons offered her their cauldron so she can create new ones. It took her month to collect all the ingredients and then finally she brewed the new ones. Now she could move one. The skies became clear and she was ready for the new adventures. November 2018, Grail's Shadow Clan Chandra sought the old hollowed mountain in the Tangled Wood. However, upon arriving, all she found was ashes. Ashes, and the remains of what it once was. She broke down, exhausted and helpless. I lost everything, my lovers, my companion and best friend. I realized I wasn't crying for myself this time. I was crying for all that the dragons of this mountain had. I spend the next several weeks wandering about the ashes and the volcano, whose insides still boiled; a warning to all dragons who passed. I met some local clans, who explained that the dragons had scattered in different directions. I spent the next two years seeking them out. I had to know what had become of them. |
