They say he has a dragon in every Flight. It's not true. He actually has several dragons in every Flight, and quite a few Beastclan to boot. Morcant is unusually suave for a Spiral. His kind is normally too easily distracted to excel at the art of seduction, but he is diligent, and focused, and sincere in the compliments he pays. It is one of the reasons he is so successful. Yet his Spiral nature manifests itself in a different way: rather than balancing many different activities at once, he juggles an innumerable sum of liaisons across the whole of Sornieth. There are so many that not even he can keep track of them all. He forgets names - and occasionally faces - with alarming alacrity, and leaves behind him a trail of broken promises ... Morcant denies having fathered any hatchlings whatsoever - though his many mistresses would disagree with such a statement. He spends very little time among the Lundlaevungar, and is often away on what he calls 'engagements' - which the rest of the Clan know to be rendezvous with his various lovers. When he is around, he spends most of his time hanging out with Qlfuss. The two drink and make merry, and rumours abound on the nature of their relationship. If pressed, Morcant vehemently denies that they are more then friends, but it is clear that their friendship means much more to him and is far more long-lasting than any of his romantic liaisons. He has unresolved trauma related to his first three kids with Sivira (before he came to the Lundlaevungar) - this is why he's an absent parent to the rest of his offspring, he'd rather not know/acknowledge they exist than go through the pain of losing hatchlings again. I mean, he also has no idea what to do with hatchlings, but that's beside the point. |
