Calinyka is the matriarch of Clan Solana. She works herself to the bone for her clan, and sees its failures and difficulties as her own responsibility. In times of warfare, she becomes an almost unstoppable force. Calinyka prides herself on being fair and just, but she will not suffer fools kindly, or give mercy to her enemies. Her only soft spot is for hatchlings, as she is always willing to turn a blind eye to their mischievous antics, so long as she can be sure that there is no danger to them nearby.

Entering the matriarch's tent, you encounter a space of medium size. The tent is made out of a rich purple silk trimmed with gold, and softly illuminated by the muted fires of a few hanging iron braziers. At the tent's rear rests a large bed, dressed in unembroidered sheets of purple silk, and at the foot is a sturdy oak chest secured with a lion-headed clasp. At the right side of the tent is a modest vanity, complete with a copper mirror and washing bowl, while a cherry wood desk dominates the center of the living area, bearing a tidy stack of papers and a neatly placed quill.

The queen, seated at her desk, meets your gaze.
