B I O G R A P H Y

Templar transitioned from childhood to adulthood ardently training for war. The word is that fighting is his first love. His readiness was never questioned. On the eve of the war at the edge of Plague territory near the Shadow flight border, he was captured and taken beyond into The Sunbeam Ruins during the Epic Battle, Light vs Plague. He negotiated his service to the capturing party who accepted his request for extended life, but the bargain was as good as exile from the flight he loved and the love of his life.

He became a Guardian of the Laser clan who referred to him as Lightguard.

He achieved great success in the warmth of the Sunbeam Ruins and received many stones, tools and occasional correspondence from his native territory. Soon though, his life of service to his adopted clan became strained. Rejected and set for exaltation, he was saved, not through any fantastic feat of fighting, but because of his achievement stones. He was traded to Starkeeper's clan in Arcane flight as a mercenary to fight in the coliseum.

His one fear of his constant travel is that his dear Choux would lose the trail of his existence. Choux is a beautiful, but lonely widow. War is like that and not to be applauded, Choux reminded Templar.

Despite this, he labored heavily for a place in his new clan. He achieved one of the highest honors given by the Arcanist himself. Rune markings and tattoos depicting his feats in war now garnished his body and wings. He was also given a very expensive magic elixir and his form was transmuted. At the Observatory, he was knighted, Templar.

Ironically though, now a loner on the battlefield, he longed for Choux's face, her letters and her love. Out of his sachel, he pulled a rolled parchment. On it, her deepest sentiments poured out visions of her bleeding heart through poetry. Then, a familiar pang stabbed him and he hung his head, doubting that he will be remembered.

Glancing skyward from his murky hiding place, he knows...

My most noble lord, I write you this to recount to you how sadly— and amid so many uncertain desires and harsh torments— I live. I did not expect pain and sorrow from you…

Love of my father and love of you, like two famished and furious snakes, have always lived gnawing, in my heart…

Others called for war, I always for peace, saying it was enough for me if my marquis remains quietly at home with me.

Your uncertain enterprises do not hurt you; but we who wait, mournfully grieving, are wounded by doubt and by fear.

You men, driven by rage, considering nothing but your honor, commonly go off, shouting, with great fury, to confront danger.

We remain, with fear in our heart and grief on our brow for you; sister longs for brother, wife for husband, mother for son…

You live happily and know no sorrow; thinking only of your newly acquired fame, you carelessly keep me hungry for your love…
