Personality
Reckless and impulsive, Nameless spends most of her day doing all she can to show that she is not her parent's child. She is very resentful of the expectations placed on her, being the sole surviving heir of Clan Hemospect's late alchemists and mechanics, and rebels at any chance she gets. 		monument_beastclans.png

History
Before her birth, the clan suffered a devastating famine. Food ran in short supply, and disease spread as dragons went starving. It took months for the clan to recover, and by the time foodstores were bolstered, it was too late for Volta and Tesla, the pearlcatcher's parents. Years of reckless alchemy and experimentation left them frail and vulnerable to illness, and they could not recover. Before they died, they laid a nest of two eggs and entrusted the clan's midwife, Mhathairal, to care for them and make the proper arrangements. The clan could not care for two hatchlings so soon after the famine, and sent the second one to live in Clan Shimmerfall of the Hewn City. Mhathairal raised the other one as her apprentice, caring for her in place of her deceased parents

While their heart was in the right place, most of the clan expected the young pearlcatcher to inherit her parents' talent for mechanics. Resenting the heavy mantle placed upon her, she rebelled and denounced any connection to her parents. Sending off every piece of equipment and half finished invention to her sister, she sealed off the workshop and refuses to speak of her parents to anyone but her sister and caretaker.

Eventually, though, she found her own talents. A chance meeting at the clan's beastkin diplomatic meetings introduced her to Inqui, an accomplished longneck swordfighter. Nameless and Inqui got along like a flameweed on fire, sparking Nameless's fascination with swordfighting. Inqui was more than happy to teach Nameless, on the grounds that she learns like a beastkin. Rather than learning traditional dragon style, Nameless was taught longneck style, which involves much more focus on balance and dexterity than most styles, and puts emphasis on a bipedal stance.


Trivia
  • Thanks to her unique style of fighting, she walks with an upright gait and is much more comfortable on two legs
  • She greatly prefers fencing/sword fighting to smithing, and mostly learned just to create her own rapier
  • Huge lesbian
  • Because she's so close to her familiar, she's an avid supporter of beastkin rights and considers Inqui a friend rather than a pet
  • She's never allowed to not have glimmer/starmap bc i spent a lot of money to get her and her girlfriend glimmer and goddammit they are gonna KEEP it.
  • She makes jewelry with her own pearls, usually using a significant memory and gifting it to someone. All the pearl jewelry in the clan comes from her, and its considered quite an honor to receive one from her.
