The Tardis rarely speaks.

Even with those she trusts completely she is close-lipped and silent unless necessity forces her to talk. Most of the Lundlaevungar can count the number of words they have heard her say upon their claws.

The Doctor refers to her as ‘The Tardis’, as if this is less of a name and more of a title – a title shared with the crystal plinth in which they live. The other dragons of the Lundlaevungar find this odd, but in the absence of anything else to call her they follow suit.

The Tardis rarely leaves the Blue Plinth unattended. It is her immense power that keeps this enormous chunk of blue quartz afloat, and while Space and Time assist with moving it from place to place, and the Doctor claims to choose their destinations, it is clear that they could do nothing without her agreement.
I wanted to see the universe,
so I stole a Time Lord and I ran away.
