Theia of the Guard
the first of her kind
If Theia had ever felt like a true dragon, it was the day she entered the Clockwork Clan. The mix of machinery and dragon fascinated her, and the work of the clan cemented her wandering claws. The heat and fires of the Flamecaller's forges ripple the air around her as she moves through the clan, a group of dragons who are the closest thing to a charge she has ever had. With her brilliant, glimmering armor, this guardian strikes a beautiful figure as she moves among the clan to oversee the workforce. Theia's job in the clan has always been the guard, perhaps as a play on her breed but mostly because she knows the most languages. Her travels across the land have given her the knowledge of runes and glyphs, and she knows what many of the ancient tomes are about. Although her knowledge isn't entirely useful in an everyday setting, her ability to pick up on languages and read dead ones has made her something of an oddity in the Clockwork Clan. For creating sentient robots identical to dragons, her language skills are incredibly useful. Of course, creating sentient robots identical to dragons isn't exactly an everyday situation. As first of her kind, she has no definable origin and a burning curiosity about it. On her off-time she frequently scours old writings for any information about her past. Unfortunately free time is something of a luxury for a dragon of her position. She isn't always able to get away and read ancient tomes. Part of her knowledge of languages stems from her desire to learn about her origin. Most of it is a head for that sort of thing. Upon first meeting the leader of the Clockwork Clan, Vulcan, she was mistaken for a robot of his clan's creation. The extent of her armor and the strange writings on her wings caused the tundra to - at first, and rather absently - think she was a robot. Upon further sniff, he realized his mistake and Theia was wearily welcomed into the clan after proving her worth. It quickly became apparent that this clan, although it gave her the strongest feelings of a charge, needed some help. Apparently a pearlcatcher realized the same thing, and the pair frequently discuss needs of the clan. Theia enjoys the clan's leader and his mind for machinery. She also enjoys living tasks such as eating and drinking. This has ultimately left Theia to watch over the clan and their interests, trying her hardest to fulfill her true dragon calling of having a Charge. |
