Loyalties
Arenna is quiet and reserved most of the time, however, when serving her duties to the clan, she is a powerful and commanding force. She has been with the clan for a very long time, all her life, and even after, being one of the dragons whom Minstri transformed into Shattered Constructs.

Most of Minstri's subjects were quite willing, Arenna was at first, but as the time drew nearer, she began to have doubts and fears. She had always served as a guardian of the lair and its territory (a small territory in that time, now so much more expansive), and to be reborn in her Queen's image was an honor without equal.

The source of her anxieties was what some might have considered a split loyalty. It was her love for Tephra, not the Queen which kept her in the clan. This, she could allow no one to know, for it could mean her doom. Gruesome brutal death and the hands of the fanatical, or a simple erosion of her rank within the clan. She feared what the change in the nature of her existence might mean for her and Tephra, for the scant few children they had reared and released into the world, most of whom had come to stand with the Plaguebringer, out of reach of mortal claws.

No one could assuage her fears. Tephra's assurances and love seemed to only make the matter worse, and she had no other confidants within the clan.

The day came, rituals had been readied, and the artisans stood by, waiting to receive her. She was, however, nowhere to be found. She had fled a few hours before, telling no one, not even her dearest love - the reason for which she had fled.
When word reached the Queen, there was apprehension in the messengers, and a deep dread in Tephra's heart, he was sure of the Queen's fury. He feared for Arenna... and for himself. Minstri, however, did not lash out in a fury, but only seemed to be amused. A faint irritation played through the Mirror's eyes.

"What a foolish concern to bring me. It is a simple thing. Find her. Bring home my wayward child. Then proceed with the artisan's work."

Several hours following this, Arenna was dragged back to the lair by the Unnamed Twins, and driven into the chamber she had fled.

Tephra went very nearly mad trying to get to her, but he was barred from entrance. He was finally calmed by Peryite, who quite unexpectedly came and sat by the younger Skydancer in silence. He waited with Tephra for a long time, and Tephra waited for Arenna. He waited there for seven days, and when she emerged, he greeted her, embracing her in his dark feathered wings. She did not attempt to flee again, and her actions were forgiven or at least overlooked by the Queen.
Commander of the Air
Arenna serves the clan as head of the Patrol guards, her rank just below Otreus, who looks after the protection of the lair itself. She spends most of her time around the outside of the lair, on the cliffs overlooking the territory, watching the turning of the breeze and listening for word and alarm from the patrols in the field. It is said she can whisper commands and direction to them on days that have sufficient amounts of wind, her voice carried on those currents for great distances without her needing to shout, and that she can listen to these in the same manner, and that the breeze itself is her spy.

Though she retains her affinity for wind in this way, she has lost her other elemental magics, and is unable to control the turn of the breeze, leaving her other abilities to the whims of the natural elements, or other dragons.

Chasm of the Mad
The loss of her beloved Tephra to slow-burning insanity has taken a considerable toll on Arenna. It seems no action she might take can help him. All that is left for her is to stand by his side and endure the loss of what he had been or turn away. But Tephra was always the reason she remained with the Clan of Singing Blood. Where so many others lived for their queen, she lived for him. She too is no longer as she once was; she surely cannot leave now. She was a Wind Dragon once. Now she doesn't even have that. She can conceal her red eyes, but she cannot change them.

She no longer stands idle at the cliffs, giving commands. As often as she can, she commands from the field. Her patrols directly attack any and all intruders with her at the front of the charge. Diplomacy is not sought where it used to be. Some think she might be trying to get herself killed. They're wrong, but not entirely wrong.

If she does meet her end it won't be the Beastclan or some feral dragon who brings her to it. She has a far more dangerous enemy. More than one.

It is Sahko's fault for bringing such madness to the clan. And it was Amanita who drove Tephra to madness. But they are not the only ones. Tephra isn't the only dragon who has been undone. Daemon was destroyed by the Unknown Haunt, and that thing has scarcely crossed paths with her patrols. Why might that be?

She still loves Tephra. She will stand by him always.

She will see to the destruction of those who have caused his suffering.

It's a long time since I've been home, but I still remember it.
Perhaps we should have both run; maybe we could have escaped there together.
