It seems that Cupid has inherited his father's charm - but none of his casual malice. From the moment he hatched, the little pink-and-lavender Nocturne wanted everyone to be happy. In fact, he offered the soft downy feathers of his nursery nest to Keahi as a gift, and the gentle Imperial had a hard time saying "No", despite knowing very well that said gift kept the little one warm at night. As he grew, Cupid's tendency to give gifts did not diminish - Obrad began to joke that he wasn't the only Coatl in the lair. Cupid only smiled at this: he could make Obrad happy simply by giving gifts to others. He soon found out each dragon's favorites - foods, colors, everything - and began providing them as gifts. (Haruna, in particular, loves Cupid for his gifts: she provides him with endless sweets for bringing her mint, while the rest of the clan is a bit less enthused about his supporting her habit. But they can't say "No" to him, either; he's too much of a sweetheart.) |

Yet there was one dragon it seemed that he could not make happy, no matter what he tried, and it pained him. Gemma's deep-seated self-loathing hurt to watch. No amount of gifts or compliments made any impression on her, and it left Cupid feeling helpless. She was beautiful, and yet he couldn't make her see it. But he couldn't give up. Her self-destructive urges frightened him. Finally, finally, after months of trying, Gemma asked the crucial question: How can I be ugly if he pays special attention to me? Cupid rejoiced. At their first Starfall Celebration, Cupid took one look at the Endangered Cosmos accent and knew that it was made for Gemma. After some coaxing, he got her to try it on. And her road to recovery truly began. They had a nest together, two boys and a girl. Cupid had absolutely no objections to naming them after treasures.

When Blossom stumbled into Deoradhan-Kunibert, Cupid recognized Gemma's need to reach out, to comfort. He kept an eye on both females, watching their friendship bloom, internally celebrating.
And when Gemma approached him with her idea of Blossom having hatchlings, he was all for giving it a try. He could see the Tundra's heart slowly beginning to mend, and hoped that giving her hatchlings to care for and love would underscore her new relationships. And he was more than happy to dote on her.
