Is it wrong that he wants someone that is his alone? A mate to hold close in the night, to brighten their day, to cherish every moment? Yet there are none who will have him, not his venerable father or his devoted mother or his wayward brothers and most certainly no other dragon who could hold his heart. He has thought many times he has found the only to be rejected at the last moment. His colors are not so terrible and his element should not be a problem.

Yet even as his heart is repeatedly cracks he gives no grimace of pain and resigns himself to being denied his one wish. This must be some curse by the Plaguebringer who made something about him appear rotten to never be truly wanted. He throws himself into his studies and merely counts the days by how many books he reads and theories he writes and designs he scratches onto parchment. The only he’s ever known to give him true affection is his familiar, his most dutiful companion and it is for this that his cracked heart will protect it will all his might. Alas, there is no mate nor children to also offer this protection so until then this will do.

Whoever would have thought that he would find himself here? Found, in his wandering and sadness, by Silas, and brought into a clan of the Windsinger. And here, of all places, to find that for which he has been looking for so long. Her name is Goo, and she, too, has made her way here from the Plaguebringer's lands. Now, they are family. Now, they are one. Now, they are home.
