"I have never spoken, never even made a sound in my life except those created by my music."
Athori, fourth son of Cerilu and Stardust, was hatched and raised in the Anaey Clan. A week after his birth, when hatchlings were supposed to begin to talk, it was discovered that Athori was mute. His parents were horrified that their son was mute and tried everything to cure him. Finally, after visiting every healer and spell-mage in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, they had to give up.

The mute Pearlcatcher often spends his days alone, reluctant to join everyday life in the clan because of his handicap. The only way Athori can express himself is through writing, and few dragons have the patience to talk with someone who can only write. Most days, his sister Idaria sits with him, giving him news of the goings-on and bringing new scrolls from the library. Athori has mostly given up hope of finding a family- "Who would ever want to love me?" He wrote one day.

He often plays the piano as a way of making noise, for he cannot get enough of sound because he cannot make it himself.

Athori is good friends with the daughter of Nivur and Urisa, Emmira, and she has been constantly trying to coax him out of his shell. It's working, since he is so fond of his niece. 		1167.png 196.png2604.png
