Lore

Aventurine is a traveling merchant, who journeys out again and again, bringing much needed supplies to and from the nomadic clan. Clan Snastle moves around, and by nature is heavily reliant on trade for the materials they can't produce themselves. However, they only set down for markets occasionally, and Aventurine provides a supplementary source of needed items in between trade opportunities.

Even as a hatchling, Aventurine valued freedom above all else, and it was a surprise to no one when the passionate traveler became a merchant, wandering clan to clan. Some have tried to persuade her to stay, but living in once place makes her feel trapped and suffocated, and she always resumes the nomadic life quickly.

Like the other Geodes, she was trapped in stone when an onyx cobra bite caused the onset of Gembond. However, she was not in it for long. Feeling the heavy stones weighing and trapping her, she was filled with a desperate panic. Unable to find a healer before the stone became too heavy to walk, Aventurine positioned herself atop a large cliff and waited. After days she was almost totally unable to walk and, taking a chance, she threw herself off the ledge. Tumbling down left her battered and bruised, but much of the Gembond chipped away, freeing her up enough to keep traveling.
She repeated this process a few times as she continued through Dragonhome in search of a healer, and she was a sorry sight indeed by the time she came upon a dragon clan. Her legs had been freed, but some bones were fractured. Stone hung off her tail like a heavy club, dragging behind her, and her chest was encased like armor. One wing was badly broken, as were multiple ribs and plenty of others.
She limped her way to the clan, who assisted her immediately. She was made comfortable as best they could, but there was no healer to remove the gems safely.

Aventurine stayed with them, and they worriedly cared for her as the gems grew back again. At first she pleaded with them to help her smash the gems, terrified of losing her mobility and freedom. But the clan argued against her, not wanting to cause permanent damage or potentially, death. After a month of searching, they heard about Amethyst, who hunted for and rescued Geodes with the assistance of Peony, an expert healer.
By this time, Aventurine was almost wholly encased, completely trapped. She was panicking, and beyond reason, and the clan had to keep her sedated while they sent word to Amethyst.

The rescue team came as quickly as they could. Removing the gems with so many broken bones underneath was too risky, and Aventurine was transported to their clan for a long treatment. Peony worked to heal her bones first, making a rare exception and using her magic rather than herbs and poultices. Then came the slow removal of the gems.
It was a while before Aventurine was recovered enough to awake, but luckily she didn't suffer the effects of long term entrapment in the stone.

Amethyst stood by her throughout her recovery, providing both physical and emotional support, and listening to her worries about spending weeks in the cave, even organized for other clan members to assist them to take short walks whenever she was physically able. The two quickly became fast friends, and Aventurine soon realized that the clan was in dire need of trade. When she recovered, she became a merchant for the clan, and does her wandering on their behalf now, returning often.

She is very much in love with the beachcomber Turquoise, and her trade routes take her along the coastline very often, nowadays.
