From day one, the little Coatl had an obsession with words. Symbols. Letters. While his littermates were off rolling around, fighting, and exploring, this one found himself the first text he could get his hands on and buried his nose into it. It was as if, he was born knowing how to read. Hence, his parents named him Scribe.

Scribe's obsession with all things written only intensified as he grew older. It was only natural that when he became older, he found himself a job in which he had lots of access to texts. He started off as a librarian, but the occupation did not suit him much. He hated being interrupted from his book in order to help others find what they were looking for, or check something out. He hated noisy library-goers even more, so eventually he migrated to the back room of
the Great Library in search for silence, and solitude.

There, he treats each and every text as if it were treasure. Even name lists and instruction manuals are precious to him, and if he has a chance he will read throug everything at least once before archiving it. His memory holds centuries worth of information, even though he is young. He knows history, philosophy, law, politics, and prose. All memorized. His favorite guilty pleasure? Poetry.

From the most romantic, to the most bizarre, to the truly disturbing, Scribe loves it all. It makes him feel inspired. It makes him want to write, too. Unfortunately, his talent lies in reading, not writing. His poems are often chaotic and full of nonsensical metaphors. Only those who know him best understand their beauty. Stored away int he very back of the archive, locked in a trunk, lies the first text Scribe ever read. It was a journal full of poems from Ember, his mother. Whenever he is struck by inspiration, he will add a poem of his own. It is now tattered, full of torn pages, clippings, feathers, and dried flowers. It is his greatest treasure.
