Untamed Overgrowth
|
Moor breeds exclusively with Genesis. Their attention to their hatchlings usually yields sympathetic and secure adults. Hatchlings grow up in the great outdoors, helping their father in the woods or their mother in her garden. They have assorted extended family members exerting influence toward fighting or guarding, as well. They send all their hatchlings out into Sornieth with the name Trickvine. |
Featuring:
Soren Age: 10 years old A Plague strategist and tactician on sabbatical while he figures out what he wants to do with his life. |
I'm too lazy to write an actual story so here, have a nice little bullet-pointed list of the most important parts of this story.
- We open with Moor putting on his field armor. For the funsies, this is his Accent: Floral Overgrowth, along with the other stuff he's currently wearing.
- Trellis is with him, and we probably learn a little bit about familiars as interpreted by Almedha. A familiar, in Sornieth/Almedha-style, is a counterpart to or representation of a dragon (or other sapient creature) in some way. These creatures, regardless of outward form, are drawn to their counterpart in an almost "instinctive" way. (As an aside, Nymphs are sapient.) Trellis, unlike most of my other dragons' animal or Beast companions, is actually Moor's familiar (and, likewise, Moor is Trellis's) in the sense that they are counterparts. Moor is born of Light, and so carries the ability to use Light magic and has a culturally-impressed interest in knowledge and mastery. Trellis is Nature-aligned, and so can use Nature magic and has culturally-impressed interest in growth and physical improvement. We also learn that Trellis is a very capable fighter, having fled his home-territory in Nature from a creature that has a very personal vendetta against him. Trells is very much into the idea of our fighting a roc.
- Lightning, Hydra, and Soren arrive with their plan. Moor is surprised that Soren is going to be joining in the fight (he knew Soren was a tactician/strategist, but assumed Soren wasn't interested in the more claws-on part of the job of warmongering).
- We head out, witty banter ensuing. Moor is a somewhat insufferable know-it-all. Light dragons, don't you know. Also, this is the guy that thought he could trick a demon, so what are you gonna do?
- We find the Crowned Roc and fight it. There is a bit about the crew needing to collect a piece of the roc so Soren can make a plague to weaken it. A feather, blood, saliva, a chip of a nail. Whatever.
- The important thing is that we manage to do that, and Soren thinks the three of them work really well together. We should have a trial run of a mercenary company doing this exact thing.
- And Moor is thinking this is the dumbest idea he's ever heard, but hey. He needs the money, so he offers to rent them space to stay whenever they make it back around here. He'd love to see them (and their money) again.
