Riona // Court of War Protection is the utmost importance and Riona is well aware of the cost. She manages the Court of War, leading it with an analytical mind and a strong sense of defense against the forces outside the clan. For some time her Court remained proficient in its duties, keeping everyone safe and comfortable while eliminating all threats to their happy lives. Riona was praised for her tactics and her intelligence, allowing her to grow more powerful. But there were two other coatls in her clan who held court, with Braen leading the Court of Bones and Lianna leading the Court of Silk. War was naturally at odds with Silk, seeing the decadence and opulence as direct affronts to the efforts of the Court of War. War and Bones, however, were a different matter. The underhanded tendencies of Bones made War uneasy, and both courts kept a steady distance from each other for fear of something entirely undefined. That something came in the form of the clan splitting after the death of Iceborn's son and the arrival of Anwir. The chaos slicing through the clan related a rocky footing for Riona's Clan of War, with the coatl calling for an immediate tribunal and execution of Anwir for his crimes. When Braen stepped in and sweet-talked the clan into absolving Anwir of such ludicrous crimes, the split was solidified. With the Clan of Silk laying on pampered beds outside of the main conflict and only offering kindling for the fires, the Clan of War and the Clan of Bones began circling each other like sharks in bloodied waters. Riona collected dragons to her, adamant in the guilt of Anwir and determined to prove it. Iceborn mourned her young prince, and the clan began to ripple with the effects of being ruled by four distinct leaders. Nymeria tried to keep the clan under one rule, valiantly fighting with Riona and Braen while pleading with Lianna to come to her senses. The three coatls could not settle on a single unified force, and so they split further. Riona maintains power in the Court of War, her influence and intelligence keeping her firmly seated. With her mate Fredrik she is often seen around the clan making preparations and attempting to bring more dragons into her Court. Bres and Brigid are her muscle, working tirelessly to train recruits and keep the Court protected. Despite the break and the bleak future for the clan, Riona will not give up on protecting it. Her determination alone is enough to tremble before. |
