ト レ ミ ー
PTOLEMY
A DREAM ACROSS TIME
Eclipse

His origins are unknown to most in the clan. Where he comes from isn't a secret, though. Ptolemy says he has come from no where. Which, for the most part, is true. He doesn't remember his parents for his clan or anything from when he was a youngster. Other than having to fend for himself. Eventually, he worked his way into various clans and began to study the sciences. He had a natural talent for it. His skills had attracted attention and Ptolemy was offered plenty of chances to practice his skills. Yet he felt hollow. He wanted something more than just doing basic experiments for the soul purpose of the experiment itself. In response to the itching inside of him, he left one of the clans that had hired him and found another. This one was better fir for someone like him, for someone of his skills. They needed a professional and he was more than willing to offer all that he had. His first week in the clan was filled with the usual introductions and simple jobs to get him used to the place. After that, he was left to his own devices to push the particle machine experiment to its fullest.

Ptolemy made a name for himself. He was honest and he rarely ever told a lie. He worked hard and did what was expected of it. Yet, there seemed to be a problem. He was empty of emotions for others. Some have even asked if he himself was some sort of machine. That is silly, of course. Ptolemy is not a machine nor is he heartless. He cannot feel emotions very well. His opinion of everyone is 'they are alright' and when others have a negative opinion of him he doesn't care. Getting an emotional rise out of him is hard. Near impossible. Another unsettling aspect about him is the fact that his kindness is hollow. While he performs kind deeds for others there is no love or care behind the actions. They are just actions—meant to be performed because it is considered the right thing to do. The only reason the clan members put up with him is because of his skills in the lab. They also can't hate him. His kindness, while empty, is still kindness. And his work, while sometimes terrifying, is still magnificent.

His protege, Euclid, is now one of Ptolemy's most priced particle machines. The young dragon had gotten herself involved in a horrible accident which resulted in her emergency transformation. As much as Ptolemy wished he could say that he was worried, he wasn't. Not as much as he should have been. Yet he did not have the capacity to to feel worry for the young dragon. Ptolemy can't feel anything for his colleague either, Klavir. The two have worked together for years, slowly developing what some would call a friendship. The truth is, the two are just good partners. They work in the lab together and then call it a day. There is nothing else going on when it comes to friendships in Ptolemy's life. He prefers to keep to himself. His work is more important to him. There are so many things to perfect with the particle machines he has been developing, and Lancelot, while his so far best one, could still be improved.

Ptolemy created Lancelot because he felt his assistants needed their own helper. The particle machine gave them what they required. When the other two refused to do some simple task or to do some math, Lancelot was on the job. Ptolemy actually felt a sting of something inside of him after seeing the particle machine in action. Perhaps it was what people called pride? Lancelot was the best particle machine to do far exist and he is being improved with updates every day. That, and Ptolemy was able to give the machine a personality, one that seemed to be joyful and optimistic. It seemed to brighten the other clan members up. Ignoring Lancelot and the work Prolemy has done, the clan members cannot complain. The scientist keeps to himself, is never a bother, and rarely even comes out of his room or the labs. It is rather hard to complain about someone who is never usually there anyway.
