Fortune favors the bold and she was fortunate indeed, the only egg of her parent’s nest who's meeting was fortune as well. Of course her parents hadn’t seen it that way but what did she care? For all his life her father lived in Plague, but he wasn’t a Plague dragon and so didn’t think like one, not completely. However both had been Wildclaws and had wanted to expand their trees but to have only one egg was seen as bad luck. Even if she hadn’t been the only one she wouldn’t care, she was strong and no nestmates would have changed it. That was the inherent difference between Plague and the other flights, the strength and the respect it got. Their counterparts in that cursed maze nurtured and gave everything a chance but Plague had no need to, a big tree that was felled easily was worse than a small one that always lived.

Fortunate she is indeed, it seems like she always knows when she's about to bite off more than she can chew and backs off. She always wins at heads or tails if she really wants to. There isn’t a bet in the lair she doesn’t have a stake in, unless she started it herself. She’s fortunate to find the best bargains and deals and fortunate to stumble upon favorable options. She’s fortunate in battle when lucky strikes don’t kill her or she lands a critical blow. She’s fortunate to have picky tastes in mates when her suitors show themselves to be crude and foul-tempered and easily drawn away by another pretty face. She’s fortunate to have found this clan in Shadows when she’d been forced out of her home. She’s fortunate to have this second chance to not lose it all. For fortune only goes so far and when it's risked for all or nothing second chances shouldn’t exist.
