About
Caero is the sister of Edyth, the second cousin to The King. Caero and her sister Edyth returned to the Scarred Wasteland from their banishment into the Southern Icefield. The younger daughter of Blacktooth, Caero shares the cruel and vicious nature of her father. Before his death, her father confided in her alone the true origins of their bloodline, and he encouraged her to take back what rightfully belongs to their family. With the aid of an army led by Dorian, her betrothed, Caero set off to the Wyrmwound Grottoes.

Her constant belittling of people around her is what caused the army’s decimation. While crossing the Abiding Boneyard, she made enemies with the wrong Serthis clan. As they camped that night the Serthis clan ambushed them, nearly killing the entire party. Only Caero and Dorian succeeded in escaping. Unable to go back to the Icefield, and in absolutely no shape to stage their campaign, Caero and Dorian were forced to limp onward until they were eventually spotted by Cinder and brought before the Thistle Clan. Taken aback by the coup and sudden shift in power, Caero and Dorian managed to succeed in hiding their identities and purposes while securing asylum within the Clan.

All went well for Caero until Edyth showed up on the clan's doorstep a week later. She had followed her sister, not knowing their true purpose in the Wyrmwound Grottoes. Edyth's family resemblance to The King alarmed Nova, who suddenly realized Caero's identity. Nova cornered her the following evening, making clear that he knows who she is and does not trust her. The two are at a standstill, because Caero is forced into inaction due to ensuring her own self-preservation and Nova is unwilling to set of a chain of chaos and mutually-assured destruction that would come from upsetting the balance of the clan. To prevent total war, Nova has kept their identities a secret, but he takes pleasure in making prideful and spoiled Caero do the most menial and degrading jobs around the lair.

Trivia
  • Caero has a good relationship with Denna, partially because Denna is easy to manipulate and lonely.
