"I won’t rest until I’ve found the perfect familiar for you!"

Freign is another of the Den’s long term residents and is one of the more well known among them. Freign specializes in Familiar care and is best known for her uncanny ability to find the perfect familiar for any dragon. Or, in some cases, the perfect dragon for any familiar. She once made a profitable business out of her skill but after a certain point, she began to feel overwhelmed and that her ability to make a good match was suffering under the strain of demand. So, she closed up shop, passed the business to some trusted associates and now does smaller private consolations for those who truly struggle to find the perfect companion.

Freign appears graceful and elegant in appearance, at least, until she moves or speaks. Bubbly and earnest, any mystique she might have possessed vanishes upon the first eager words of conversation. Worse still, Freign is decidedly uncoordinated in her movements frequently tumbling or tripping her way around the lair, much to the horror of any smaller dragon that might fall in her path of destruction. There is a list of places in the Draumer Den that she is not allowed to go unaccompanied and several more that she is forbidden access to at all. While wobbly and uncoordinated on the ground, Freign is quite the opposite in the air and underwater. This combined with her love of all things shiny and shimmery has given her the title of ‘Queen of the Beasts’ further adding to the misconception of her personality among other lairs.

When she first happened upon the Draumer Den Freign was a far different dragon than she appears today. Road weary and dejected, most of the lairs in the Icefields had no use for a Familiar specialist, but Argonia saw her potential as a liaison between the Draumer Den and nearby beast clans and brought her onboard. Freign went above and beyond Argonia’s expectations, her familiar matchmaking business brought connections and contacts from all over the Icefields and beyond. Now that she’s semi retired Freign makes a living teaching dragons how to better care and bond for their familiars and providing advice for those seeking a good match on a one on one basis.

Were it not for her dangerous occupation it would be easy all too easy for others to take advantage of Freign. Her earnest and friendly nature makes her a bit weak to manipulation. Thankfully, her long term position in the lair has granted her protection in the form of a clan of cautious and world weary dragons who are more than ready to defend her if they feel the need. Freign does close business with Sugar as many of the familiars she cares for can provide ingredients for his alchemy and receives regular visits from Maggie who sees Freign’s Familiar sanctuary as a valuable learning tool for herself and the hatchlings she cares for. Her daughter Foxglove visits Freign whenever her travels to the Icefields allow it and occasionally Freign will teach classes to Tullius’s trainees on how to better defend themselves against certain creatures.

Fortress of Ends Excavation

The results of the Excavation were hard on Freign. Connections she herself had been responsible for forming between clans fell apart because of a single action performed by a selfish Imperial. As a result Freign doesn’t hold Marco in very high esteem. Despite this she was also against the idea of banishing him. It simply wasn’t in her nature to reject a dragon that had already been made a full fledged clan member. Even one that had so negatively impacted her home. Still it will take time and a lot of good decision making on Marco’s part to get back into Freign’s good graces. In the meantime, Freign has turned her efforts towards assisting Pashek in forging new clan contacts.

IndigoCat: Freign reminds me of the depths of an ocean :o the stonewash hex reminiscent of the fractured reflections on the surface and the shadow primary deeper down where the light doesn't and cannot reach.

OnABadBet: I'm not typically one for the cloaks/staffs, or for white-range capsule, but this girl was too lovely to pass up. ;v; I really love her art and occupation, as well!
