Blunt yet empathetic, Suspen is the matriarch of the Xiom clan. She met her life-mate, Parem, upon being granted a lair by the Windsinger. She speaks quickly and dislikes being woken up, but will always do what is best for the clan.

She was 'born' as all matriarch and patriarchs are, unhatched and fully grown, on the Zephyr Steppes by the power of the Windsinger himself and appointed the task of creating a new clan. Once she finally decided to settle near the edge of the Steppes, overlooking a cliff down to the sea, the first member of their clan appeared, having also been born unhatched and tasked with finding a mate near the sea. Their first hatched clanmate was sent by a neighboring clan, who had been instructed by the winds to send a young dragon to the newcomers. These three became the basis of the entire Xiom clan, Suspen contributing logical thought.

Since that time the clan has swollen immensely, and recently found itself resettling for a more permanent home overlooking Windstar Bay.
