Cloudlight
Life-mate to Dew (Breeding Range Here)
Father to Technos and Technotic
Disliked by Frailmoss (half-sister, daughter of Talek/Faelyn)

Cloudlight is light on his feet, generous, and forgiving.
He tends to stay fairly under-dressed, showing off his natural colors as much as possible. He knows Dew loves him for it.

He was once, nothing more than a simple Mirror. He was a passionate dragon who went to the ends of Sorneith and back to prove to his beloved that he could be something more. It is a grand tale, full of hardship, heroism, triumph-
aaaand his remaining sons get tired of his recollections of it.

Many years ago, two plain-looking mirror dragons were hatched from the nesting between Talek, the clan leader, and Seyza, the head guard. These dragons were named shortly after hatching. First was Pip, whose hatching was quick and messy, but was full of energy, ready to prove her worth. Next was Cloudlight, who hatched more slowly, but whose first steps were light and airy. He had a better sense of balance and caution, while Pip clambered about without remorse, despite the numerous bumps and bruises.

The two were inseparable siblings from the beginning, and once Faelyn made her return as co-leader of Ash Haven, their bond was more important than ever. Seyza warned her children not to make a show of their frustrations, to be proud of their family bonds, and to prove their place in the clan rather than demand it so. It took time to understand, but seeing their mother's love scorned upon Faelyn's return, they knew they had to make her proud and show their worth. They diligently continued to help around Ash Haven, building the foundation for new homes, buildings, and farms, to prove they had every right to stay, just as much as Talek's other children.

A few years went by before a lovely young wildclaw found her way into Ash Haven, and quickly caught Cloudlight's eye, her dark feathers and starkly contrasting blue wings were quite unlike his pale-white, leathery form. She stood tall and proud on lanky legs, adorned with simple armor and side saddles, while he moved about on all fours. He cursed his lowly form, and couldn't help but blush with embarrassment when she stood before him. She approached cautiously, simple weapons stored in her hefty side saddles clanked with every step, "I don't mean to bother you, but I've been told you'd know where Seyza may be?"
"Ah, My mother! She's probably at the training grounds near the cliffs, training another batch of guards. I can take you there!" He smiled and led her away to make the delivery of finely-crafted weapons to the guards, introducing themselves to each other along the way.

The two hit it off quickly, and Dew revealed she had a strong interest in staying in the newly-growing encampment to grow her skills in weaponry, and to assist in their rescue program of seeking lost dragons in the Void Desert to the south. With some encouragement, he eventually revealed he was quite agile, and loved to jump and dance between rocks, singing and chirping all the while. He was, of course, quite anxious to reveal this at first, as it wasn't something he'd shared with anyone else. There was something about the depth of her eyes and the warmth of her bright smile that finally made him feel comfortable in his own skin, which he'd not felt for some time.

Excitedly, she asked if he would join the guard alongside her, "Your skills and agility could certainly be used on the battlefield!" He stammered and, after a moment of careful consideration, slowly shook his head. Despite his agility and relation to the head guard, he was incredibly awkward with a sword and was fearful of battle, even if it meant letting his family down. He'd never let his family know how he felt, and had been finding excuses to miss trainings for years. He was a dancer, not a fighter. He knew the basics of self-defense, should he need them, but the idea of actually being on real guard duty? He couldn't stomach it.

He thought for sure she'd be appalled at the revelation. The notion that he so greatly despised the idea of battle- the very thing that brought her here in the first place- perhaps she'd forget their friendship altogether and leave him behind. He prepared for the worst, and yet... she laughed, "You really think I'd leave over something like that?" She raised his chin with gentle claws, and smiled, "I love weapons for the craftsmanship, not the battles they'll be used in, and I certainly don't love battle for the sake of fighting. I only fight if I have to, for what I believe in, and for what I seek to protect. I fight for the ones I love." She rest her muzzle atop his head and sighed, "I promise, you will never have to see a single battle if I stay by your side. You can be my dancer, and I'll fight for you."

From that day forward, their love was solidified, and the two have been together ever since, despite some physical changes on both sides.

Ash Haven was fairly peaceful despite some scattered warring beasts that sought to steal supplies or drive them from trade routes. Cloud was delighted that his precious Dew rarely had to see battle, even if it meant things were a bit stagnant for her. However, there was one particularly nasty group of bandits that continued to plague one of their trade routes, and supplies began to run low for the season. Something had to be done.

A party of guards was formed to protect one of the last caravans that would travel the route before summer storms began through lightning's territory, and Dew had excitedly volunteered. Cloud was crushed at the thought, and begged her not to go on the days-long trip, but she insisted, citing the importance of supplies for the clan. After long and stressful good-byes, he nervously watched the group make their exit from the safety of the encampment, and wondered if they'd make it back in one piece...

Not two days later, Plainsrunner, their fastest messenger, rushed to the medics of the clan - the caravan had been attacked, one fallen warrior and others with serious wounds, but the goods were secured and were still on the way home. With quick healing, the wounded may be able to pull through, but they would need to hurry to meet them halfway before more misfortune could befall them further. A small party of healers and fresh warriors were sent to meet them halfway, but it would still be about a day's worth of travel, even without stops along the way. Cloudlight demanded to come along, although he had little knowledge of healing. He knew he had to help in any way he could to ensure his beloved mate made it home safely, even if that meant doing what he feared most: fighting.

Upon arriving at the ragged caravan, he was appalled to find Dew had suffered some of the most serious battle wounds and lie with the goods in the wagon. He stayed by her side as much as he could during the trek home, adding pressure where needed and keeping the wounds' dressings fresh and clean. Eventually, she fell asleep, and he was left to his own quiet thoughts. He couldn't stand to see her ragged and torn, even for the good of the clan. He vowed to find a way to protect her in the future, no matter what it took, but would address it with her upon their return.
