Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this little lady wandered a little too far from her lair (100601, Abu), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

And her hair was a folded flower - And the quiet of love in her feet - W.B. Yeats
Each time that one loves is the only time that one has ever loved - Oscar Wilde

Her Journey:
Kells was a hopeless romantic. As hopeless as they came. She spent her days reciting poetry in the flowerbeds and her nights gazing at the stars. At first, it was endearing. As she grew older, her father worked hard to impart a healthy degree of wit and cynicism in her outlook on life, knowing that a life lived with passion was a life lived with pain. The harder he tried, the more Kells knew that she must do more than just exist, she must live! With a kiss goodbye to her parents, she journeyed off to find the love and adventure she knew waited for her in the great wide world.

She started her journey by wandering around the Cloudscrape Crags of Ice Cold territory.
There near some iced over Water Falls, she met with a lovely bunch of dragons gathering some plants and bugs for dinner. They showed her the way to a peaceful, quiet, friendly lair.
The Care Taker greeted her with pleasure and showed her a nice place to rest. "I'm Tundrafrost9, but you may call me Tundra. Tomorrow, if you wish, we are going out to hunt. You may stay here and watch over the little ones or even go on an inspiration hike with Poppy; I'm sure she wouldn't mind." After questions and writing and watching and interacting, she went to bed perfectly satisfied. The days here will be some to remember, she whispered as she drifted off to sleep.

Kells had such a wonderful journey to the land of ice, that she couldn't wait to hurry home and tell her father all about her grand adventures! It was a long voyage, but she'd grown heartsick away from her family and needed them to know she was alright and having fun. Her father welcomed her back, but knew her path didn't end in the Sunbeam Ruins. "Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about," he said. With a kiss and a push, he sent her back out on her journey.

Her journey continued to the Zephyr Steppes in the Windswept Plateau across the land from her home. She found a peaceful clan that held a lot of promise for her romantic heart. Everything was new and exciting! While reading her poetry and reciting it in her traveler's nest, she saw a beautiful Skydancer glide over. She found her and decided to try and make a friend. Her name was Asheria, and Kells listened intently to her romantic story of how her mate went missing during a storm before their three eggs hatched, and how he eventually made it home. Kells loved their story so much she wrote it in her journal to read later on. Asheria gave her a pretty yellow bow as a parting gift, and Kells knew she would keep it forever.

She didn't travel far before meeting a charming coatl named Loam who resided in another wind clan. The two really hit it off and next thing she knew she was caring for 3 beautiful eggs. Staying in the nesting grounds caused her to grow a little stir crazy, but her excitement over being a mother made up for it. She couldn't wait to see her hatchlings. The moment her babies hatched, she told herself that she would stay with them and keep them safe forever, but Loam was concerned about her giving up her dreams and encouraged her to continue her travels. After all the spark between Kells and Loam had mostly disappeared and it was clear that he wasn't the true love she was looking for. He promised he would care for their children until they were ready to start their own journeys and with that, Kells nuzzled her three beautiful children and tearfully left.

Kells had travelled northeast with the memory of her children still fresh in her mind. For a few hours, travel was slow. She had felt disappointed in herself, but suddenly remembered what Loam had told her, puffed up her chest, and began walking with a newfound energy. Her stride was quickly short as she stumbled upon a Skydancer collapsed on the road. The Snapper hurriedly carried him onto her back and continued walking once again, with even more energy than before. She needed to find a safe place for the mysterious Skydancer to recover. If she estimated correctly, she would be reaching the Sea of a Thousand Currents before nightfall, where clean drinking water was plentiful and would do the Skydancer good.

Upon reaching the Sea of a Thousand Currents, the Skydancer awoke. The first thing he said to Kells was, "I do not belong here." Kells nodded and said, "I know." The Skydncer said his name was Blade, and he soon realized he belonged in the Starfall Isles. As Kells explained her search for love, Blade decided he would travel with her. Their staupy in the Sae of a Thousand Currents had been a pleasant one, but it was time to move on. As they traveled, the air steadily grew colder, and Kells realized they had entered the Southern Icefields.

Soon after the they entered the Frigid Floes, Kells and Blade realized a storm was headed their way. When it struck, they found themselves stranded, unable to see. Luckily for them, a Guardian dragon by the name of Luminescence found them, wandering and lost. She took them to her clan, where they agreed, they'd stay until the storm blew out. Kells became good friends with Caramel, another dragon from the Light flight. They talked for hours each day, and Kells loved to hear about how Caramel met his mate, a Spiral dragon named Sorceress. She was overjoyed to hear that they were soon to be parents, even if they only had one egg!

As the storm continued, it became clear to Kells she and Blade would have to stay far longer than they originally intended. Eventually, weeks after being rescued, the clouds cleared, and the wind quieted. As Kells and Blade made their goodbyes, they smiled at each other, glad to finally be able to travel once more. They had both made memories they'd cherish for a long time. Kells did not yet know where she was headed, but somehow, she knew it would be someplace she'd remember forever.

Tired of snow, they ended up in Mithrandir's Clan on the Zephyr Steps at a rather busy moment. Everyone was still excited over the arrival of 2 new clan members and Pasqual was getting ready to start some traveling of his own. This meant they were in the middle of a 2 day celebration to welcome the new comers and send Pasqual off.

While Pasqual & Conner showed Blade around, Leena took Kells under her wing. Kells loved the storytelling and sky-dancer troupe. Leena even let Kells keep track of some of the puffs while they were watching the celebration. Her favorite parts of the celebration were the ribbon dancing and watching Blade run the agility course.

Her favorite part of the lair was the wind garden and Leena told her all about the Generation Tree in the center of it. It was essentially a wind chime that would grow over time with the clan. Kells briefly pictured wind chimes for her and her children. Perhaps she would do something like that when she returned home even if it wasn't a Light thing to do?

After the celebration was over she spent a lot of time exploring the wind garden or watching puffs. She was surprised but this clan didn't have a poet and once Sera caught her reciting poetry to herself in the wind garden she actually became the center of attention reciting it each day! Kells and Sera both liked spending time in the wind garden and became friends. Sera was an artist and after listening to Kells' descriptions, drew her pictures of her puffs to take with her on her trip.

After a few more days she and Blade continued their travels knowing they'd be welcome back anytime.

Kells began to realize that her travels tended to direct her all around the Zephyr Plains. She expected to see all sorts of places in Sorneith. Perhaps the forests of the shadow region, the jungles of nature, something different. That wasn't what she received when she encountered the small spiral.

The snapper had been walking along, minding her own business, when she encountered a spiral no bigger than her left foot. He raced around her, winding himself around her legs and torso faster than she could react. Before she knew it she'd been equipped with a number of balloons around her body. The spiral lounged around her neck, like a scarf, as they began to rise into the sky. No matter how she tried to escape she was prisoner to the balloons and the small serpent.

They floated in silence. Waiting, watching the landscape beneath them grow farther away. Kell almost wanted to cry. She's never been off the ground, not like this. Times like these made regret that she was a snapper. If she was a guardian, a nocturne, anything else she could fly away without trouble. Instead she hung in the air like a cloud.

Eventually day turned to night and Kells couldn't help but fall asleep. By the time she woke up she felt plush blankets wrapped around her. Startled, she jumped up from her sleep, looking at her surroundings. She appeared to be inside of a cloud! Taking a hesitant step, the snapper rested her footing against the ground. It was springy, like cake! What a bewildering thing; no one would believe her when she recounted her story.

She took her time exploring this foreign land. Turned out that it appeared to be a settlement in the sky, built into the clouds. Different types of dragons strolled through the streets, talking to each other as they strolled. Kells even saw a couple more snappers! While it was a fascinating thing she felt out of place, and wasn't entirely sure how she got there.

In her wanderings, Kells found the same spiral hanging near the edge of the clouds, his gathering of balloons by his side. Kells began to approach, intent on asking him what exactly he'd done. Before she had a chance the spiral did the same thing he'd before. With a frown settled on her large jaw, Kells felt herself slowly sinking through the clouds back towards Sorneith.
